I'll start since I had a lot of experiences that were cooler than getting my hermit crab crawl into a shell:

Passing entry exam in university, graduating, coming home after military service. Three events that left me with an unfading smile for a couple days, and levels of "happy hormones" that no bedroom experience has ever granted, including the very first one. (Ew.)

Film industry, and I mean more or less family-friendly type, always portrayed sex as a huge plot point, with a lot of slow-mo, blue light, soft jazz music in the background and out-of-focus close-ups on lips and fingertips (not to mention that virtually always, participants of a sex scene that actually makes it onto screen are around the very median of "conventionally attractive"). I find it the most false advertisement in the history of visual media. In my experience, fixing a bug in a big software project can be more thrilling, especially after the age of 23-ish.

There was a thread two years ago asking if there's something better than sex, and even excluding drugs, there was a lot of good answers. So I'd like to take it a little bit futher: is sex an achievement at all? Cool, you made it to base Whatever, you even managed to find a free apartment for a night, you got extra happy hormones for a couple hours (and lack of happy hormones for the next couple days), you've enjoyed touching an attractive young human body for some time, you've scratched a tally mark on bedpost, and you both got some good or not-so-good memories. If you're really lucky, in an upcoming couple years, she'll let you sign off half of your property to her and support her children. If you're even more lucky, she won't. For comparison, when you win in a sports competition, you at least get a symbolic trophy.

Before anyone jumps in. No, i'm not an Ace, my T levels are fine, I have no problems getting it hard, and I am not a sick porn addict. It seems to be a taboo to simply stating that sex doesn't belong in your top 5 life priorities. And it seems like a scam scheme - if you talk a guy deeply into the topic, at some point he'll admit that viscous friction is just viscous friction, and back in his virgin days, his expectations were higher than the reality that he faced, except very few guys with enormously attractive girlfriends on the very peak of their best years.

Not a scientific topic, let's just share personal experiences.

Women, especially lesbians and bisexuals in homo relationships who'd like to whine about men's incompetence in bed: make your own post, dammit.
