Not RPW, but tradcon enough.

My husband is 'out of my league' for things that I value (charisma, social empathy, and other misc. traits that lend themselves to popularity and social power).

On my own I can be a solitary, analytical dickhead. Too many ideas and too little patience to slow it down for other people. I'm supremely judgmental and emotionally/socially tone deaf.

But I can feel lonely at times, so my husband is the counter balance and window to a world of feelings, extroversion, popularity, friendships, all that warm hearted shit.

I'm intuitive/navel gaze-y enough to know without a link to the other side I'd quickly find myself in a barren studio apartment staring down middle age as a spinster. Not even surrounded by cats; despite liking them a good deal I can't even connect with cats (they all prefer my husband).

So I don't fuck up.

I don't believe there is another man that is 1.) attractive enough to keep me hooked on his D AND 2.) willing to put up with my spergy ass.

Oneitis I suppose, but I think that's ok for women.

Visually, someone would probably say I'm out of my husband's league because I keep my looks on point (like Stacy level personal grooming and style) whereas he's strictly a black tees, ripped up black jeans, black boots, black motorcycle jacket, long hair kinda guy.

Yeah he is out of my league in the categories I value. It definitely makes me want to maintain the qualities that he values in me.

Mr.D is a 6'2" ripped Adonis with a big brain, heart and huge hands. He also has a low manly voice and his face looks like a young Harrison Ford. He thinks I'm hot but the truth is he is insanely hot. Luckily we love each other on top of all that. I'm lucky af. Only downside is that his hotness triggers some stupid involuntary mate guarding. I wish I could turn it off.

Does this provide incentive for me to stay in check? No. I don't see what I do for my husband as "staying in check," since everything "traditional" that I do for him involves making both of us happier and contributing to a peaceful household.

I have sex with him often because my husband's attractive. When I gave birth, I didn't have sex with him for more than eight months (because it was painful) and I didn't enjoy it. Now, we have sex every two days or so, and I enjoy it.

I clean for him because... well, he's kind of shit at cleaning. (Sorry, hubs.)

I cook for him because I like not setting my entire house on fire. I also like having a husband who's, you know, alive.

Why is any of this considered "staying in check" to some people? That makes no sense to me.

I take 'league' to mean attractiveness level and/or social standing, so in that regard we're about the same. But apart from that, he has certain personality strengths over me which I strongly respect (such as being steadfast or kind), so that helps to keep me attracted to him.

On a personal level, I don't like the idea of being kept in check; I try to be a good partner on principle rather than in reaction to a specific guy. My bf is low dominance so if I wanted to act out, he wouldn't be able to stop me.

I guess I'm a reddish pw. When we got together we were in about the same league, now were both in our early 30s and I suspect that if I were to be single, Id have a hard time finding another husband who is tall, attractive, great in bed, super smart, hilarious, adventurous, driven, hard working, secure in himself, not afraid of confrontations, resourceful, loving, devoted, and thoughtful. But he could find someone like me in most ways.

So even though our levels of various traits aren't super different, in terms of what we can each get with those traits, he's out of my league. Yeah, that totally gives me incentive to be a good wifey.
