In case you haven't heard, this guy Jordan Peterson has become a bit of a YouTube sensation as of late. I've become quite enamored myself with what he's been saying and watched a lot of his videos.

One of the more recent ones touched directly on a topic often discussed here. Namely male social status. I'll paraphrase what he says here starting at approximately 19:00 and leave a link below.

"Males need status because females don't like males without status. The correlation between male socioeconomic status and access to mating is about 0.6 which is a staggeringly high correlation in the social sciences. The only correlation I've seen higher than that is between inequality and male on male homicide which is about 0.8 and accounts for nearly all of it."

So does this kind of settle the debate?
