Q4ALL: What do you think about the concept of "Frame?" Apparently it's very central to TRP. How can it be meaningfully defined/analyzed?

Frame is another word for how a subject is presented, or "framed", to a person. Reframing is changing the context around that topic to present a different view on the idea. It's just another word for what people in the media call "Spin", or "flipping the script".

It's useful in dating because it works as a form of verbal jujitsu. You can redirect negative statements into positive ones, or vice versa. At a deeper level, doing so displays that you have intelligence and wit.

For example, if a girl comes up to you at the bar and asks you to buy her a drink, the typical move for low status guys is to smile and enthusiastically get her a drink because a girl is actually talking to them. In this context, you would be giving into her frame. She controls the dialogue.

If a girl comes up to you, asking for a drink, and you reply, "Woah, slow down there. Don't come on so hard," or "Do I know you?" you've essentially changed her frame, or put her question in a different light. Now she's on the defensive and must justify herself. Now you control the conversation.

Doing this back and forth is also known as "flirting".

At it's best, frame seems like little more than self-control and setting and keeping boundaries. Nothing wrong with that.

Frame is at its most simple just setting boundaries and not getting irrationally angry over nothing. Its fine and healthy for a good relationship.

Of course TRP, lacking any kind of nuance whatsoever, take this to mean "never do anything for her that you wouldn't like to do", and "don't show her emotion" which is of course not healthy at all.

A frame is just a point of view, a perspective, and the term comes from NLP.

To hold your frame means to not let yourself be convinced of something that isn't your point of view. To not be shaken and discouraged. To insist on your perspective over others.

People who struggle to define it really should pay attention because you're likely wrong.

Frame was the difference between me when I was attractive to my ex wife, and when I wasn't anymore.

However, frame is more than just a made up attitude which too many TRP men take it to be. You actually have to believe yourself to be the one with options, or at the very least, the man who doesn't give a damn, to project frame.

Putting on artificial airs while you are the same little pussy hungry little toad underneath bulging muscles, tattoos and trash talk is just pathetic.

Frame is like the social mask that many milder autistics use to appear socially adept in public. It's not really self confidence, it's more of a type of acting.

When I read TRP articles on frame, it made a lot more sense to me social skills wise than neurotypical discussions of self confidence.

I've always thought of frame as masculine frame vs feminine frame.

Its about a perspective or paradigm.

Like for instance the other day my SO was hanging out with her two best friends, her girlfriend and our other friend who is a gay guy.

I asked her if she worked out today (because in the morning she gave me this huge motivation speech) and since she did not workout she got offended that I was implying she was fat and lazy.

Immediately she recruited her besties to her frame, which is to say I'm being a shallow hater.

But I retained my frame and assured her that she isn't fat or lazy and I instead emphasized the importance of carrying through with the smack that you talk. Pointed out how I had gone to work that day and still found time to train/workout, so I wasn't being a hypocrite at all

I called her and her friends "typical you go girl SJWs" and they got the point. The next day they were laughing that (he put you in your place bitch) and she was of course pissed off at that and it reignited the situation.

Later that night she apologized and said I was right, she was being lazy but thought she could win the argument because her friends were there.

That is retaining the male frame

Its an old term from NLP. Pickup artists used to be really into NLP and this particular one stuck around as PUA turned into TRP.

Its actually a pretty useful concept. Everyone has their own way of seeing the world. In many interactions between two people you are seeing two different perspectives- two different frames of the situation. And often the person who is more certain in their frame ends up pulling the other person into adopting it.

Here's a fictional example of framing, that line from Watchmen when Rorschach goes to prison : "I'm not stuck in here with you, you're stuck in here with me" - a powerful reframing of the situation that turns the dynamic on its head.

Redpillers spend a lot of time essentially trying to do the same trick in dating ("you don't understand, I'm not chasing YOU, you're chasing ME")

After being passed around so much though the terms gotten muddled and confused. A lot of people seem to think its just "rigidness" (possibly because the name sounds like a door frame or some other structure) And that it just means being tough and manly and never backing down.

Which can work as a kind of frame control- just being mega obstinate until the world is forced to accommodate you, but not a very subtle one.

I've always assumed it came from the phrase "frame of reference," and that "holding frame" means sticking to your own frame of reference (attending to your own needs and best interest, to the exclusion of others' needs and best interest).

Holding frame means prioritizing an "I win, you lose" mindset, often at the expense of win-win arrangements or effective compromises.

Frame is everything.

Imagine a house. It has a frame; joists, studs, rafters, trusses. You put sheetrock on the walls, carpets over the floor, hang doors to compartmentalize your house, hang cabinets to store food, you run power through the house to give yourself a hot bath after a hard workout, you throw plywood on top of the roof trusses, add felt and slap on shingles to shelter you from the rain. You put bookcases in your house to store books to feed your mind and nourish the soul. All impossible without a frame.

Frame is just another term for control. Whenever two people interact one of the two will generally have a greater degree of control over what is happening - that person is the one who is "framing" the interaction.

Important concept, because femaloids both love and hate being in control. They love it because they're always trying to do it, exercise control, make a male bend to their will, change him, advise him, nag him, judge him, make him respond, control him.

But when they actually get what they want and a male cedes control they lose respect for him. Femaloids want to be equal or submissive. A femaloid who dominates a male is already experiencing the first seeds of resentment and dislike of that male. She knows he isnt strong enough to master her, and in fact has to be led by the nose like a puppy.

And that's why no female will ever sleep with me.

Frame = you only reply to her texts & never text her first, besides maybe the first time after getting her number, kik/snapchat, etc. Unrealistic, given even average women have so many notifications on their phone (i.e. messages from men) they can't even keep them in order.
