My ideal woman does whatever job she wants, I don't particularly care what it is EXCEPTING jobs like model, porn star etc where they're put on display for other men. I would probably not be comfortable with actress either. However I'm not really in any kind of position to pull girls like that anyway, so it's a bit of a moot point

I would like her to be happy with what she is doing and have flexible and preferably not very long hours. The amount she makes is irrelevant. I expect her to stay at home after having kids at least for few years.

Nurse is the ideal occupation IMO. It's a credible career, you have to make a real investment in it, it's caring for people, you're part of the solution not part of the problem. I would emphatically love to have a sexy nurse in my life.

Uh, I unno, I never really thought about what she'd be doing. I guess I always figured it would be 8-4/9-5 kinda thing. Above average income like mine.

I'm an accountant, I work 8:30-6 on most days. I have a somewhat flexible schedule. I choose to go in at 8:30 and leave at 6 because of my workload, but during December, for example, I go in at 9:30 and leave at 5:30, just because it's slow due to the holidays. During our year end, I've gone in at 5 am and finished at 7pm for the month or so it takes us to close the year.

I guess wife material would be someone with a job that has that kind of flexibility. It would make having a family a lot easier since we could compromise days and ensure that our children spend a lot of time with both of their parents.

The woman that I'm seeing works dayshift during the week, but works in my industry, so she understands my schedule and what type of work I do.

As far as the other stuff I couldn't care less. I make more then I need so as long as she likes her job and doesn't come home as a stressed out bitch I'm good

RN is great on paper cuz good money and flexible schedule w part time options, leaving time to exercise/cook/have fun/childcare and have a life outside of work. This is what I'm looking for when assessing the career aspect of a girl. The problem with RN s is that roughly 1/3 are crazy and or have unhealthy habits related to stress, like smoking and obesity.

i personally prefer women with low-prestige, low- to medium-salary jobs like retail. more so if she is doing something she enjoys. i've had a lot of good experiences with girls who work in clothing stores because they enjoy fashion.

to be more accurate: if a woman has a high-salary, prestigious career, that does not in any way make her more attractive to me. but in terms of LTR-type compatibility it ranges from a neutral non-issue to a negative red flag depending on her personality.

higher salary leads to high expectations (wants to travel all the time, likes buying designer clothes, expensive restaurants all the time, etc). it's a neutral if she is responsible with money and makes an effort to pay for her share of things. it's a complete dealbreaker when a woman makes a good salary on her own but expects a man to pay for everything.

a girl who is working a basic hourly job is much more appreciative when you give her a gift or take her somewhere.

it really doesnt matter to me for as long as her schedule works with mine. she can be a writer, nurse, or even someone in finance. i dont care about her job for as long as she is able to support herself and we can spend time together like dinner after work and dates on the weekend.

I honestly don't give a shit, just as long as she contributes financially. I don't believe most peoples' jobs say much about their personality, people tend to just fall into jobs out of convenience and keep doing them out of routine and comfort.

Although pharmacist, nurse, or any kind of doctor would be cool cuz easy access to pharma drugs.

She could even be out of a job. It's not too much of a factor. But again, I got good finances. I suppose a middle income guy would do better with someone who could help take care of the bills, but apart from that job/prestige/salary plays no role in how invested in a woman I am.

It doesn't matter. She should be able to pay all her own bills if she were on her own. That shows maturity. My opinion is not about which job she has, it's about

Her making a plan and executing it. Like going to college or trade school, and completing it. This is a higher function of the brain in the "executive functions" class.
She should plan ahead for the future and make preparations for emergencies. No one knows when they will have an emergency, but they will have one that requires lots of cash.
She should be self-aware. She should know what she wants. If she doesn't she needs to make a plan and execute it to find out what she wants.
She should not make assumptions about her SO, she should communicate. This is not rocket science.
Most of the above will help increase her confidence.
She should educate herself about how real relationships work, not have some unattainable fantasy. She should have realistic expectations.

Yes, that is very prestigious. The nurses were very nice to me at the hospital. That means a lot to me. My mom was an RN.

How much a woman makes is irrelevant to most men, and I am no exception. I married my ex wife for her mind, not her bank balance. She was broke, and heavily under student loan debt the day we wed. She was in a stable career, with me having paid off her loans the day we signed the divorce papers. Go figure.

Also, I am not looking, but the following are true nevertheless.

Ideal job will depend on who is talking, but for me it would be something that challenges her mind so that she stays sharp, but something that is compatible with raising a family. Biology matters, and it is delusional to think that a woman in a high flying high stress career is going to have the time for family.

High stress careers that take her away from home on a regular basis are also more likely to result in cheating. If a person is spending vast amounts with coworkers, and has the cheating gene (much more likely to exist in women because of hypergamy) that is a given.

A wife isn't a trophy. She is supposed to be a functional member of your family and has a biologically dictated role you cannot ignore. Lesson learnt the hard way.

A freelancing career that didn't take her away from home much would be a great choice. Or a defined work environment where there was no overtime culture would be another.
