How do you explain the rich male preference to marry >20 years younger females during second marriages?

Because they find those women hottest.

The women seem to jump at the opportunity as well. Why would they if women don't care about prestige/status/money?

I too would jump at the opportunity of collecting funds and a very nice life and divorcing said man eventually. Easy money. Easy life. Sex ain't that important for a lot of women.

They do care about those things? Just not to the extent that TRP makes them out to.

Men can marry whoever they want, I wont judge them or say they're bad people. If a women is cool marrying a dude 20 years older than her, more power to her. If a guy can bag a girl 20 years younger, great for him. I dont see every single woman on earth jumping at that opportunity though.

I just dont particularly think too many healthy relationships happen because a 20 yo married a 40 yo because hes rich.

Yet some of the richest, most intelligent men in the US and World routinely marry far younger women after becoming successful.

Young women are much more easily impressed, less "demanding" and more attractive (on average). I can easily see how a man who'd spent 15-20+ years of his life married to a woman of a similar age as himself would now prefer a younger, hotter, easier going companion.

P.S. The women seem to jump at the opportunity as well. Why would they if women don't care about prestige/status/money?

No one is saying (or has said) no woman in the world has ever or will ever care about those things so....

One thing to consider from the woman's end: wealthy men are more rare than young women, even attractive young women, so it should not be surprising that a wealthy man could find a young woman to marry him. We could expect this to be true even if a small proportion of attractive young women were interested, so it can't tell us much about women's preferences in general.
