I was listening to morning radio on my drive to work a few weeks ago and the question of what body type you are genuinely attracted to was asked.

I was floored by the number of women who called in claiming to absolutely love a big, teddy bear of a man.

Evolutionarily speaking, in a hunter gatherer culture, how much would be a fat man worth? Let us see. Slow on his feet. Easily winded. Nearly useless in a hunt. Easy and attractive prey. Not prime mating material, unless he was an old chieftain with tons of resources.

And fat woman? More likely to survive any lean periods, but not as healthy. Not the best material, but doable.

Our preferences are not that difficult to figure out.

If he's tall and fat, than ya, I would even say more women like tall and fat than men like fat women, by a huge margin.

Tall and fat guys seems to do pretty well, it seems being tall is enough to overcome other flaws or less than ideal qualities.

Being big is traditionally masculine. If a guy gains weight while keeping a broad shouldered, narrow hipped look, I think a fair amount of women will still find him attractive. Unfortunately modern lifestyles don't really make this type of weight gain all that common.

I've heard women talk about how they like 'cuddly' guys, and chubby guys seem to operate at the level I would expect them to from their attractiveness generally.

If straight women really unilaterally hated fat guys, then straight men would look more like gay men.

A question I can answer.

So yeah, being fat is generally unattractive, don't do it and lose it. I'm 300 pounds, down from 330. (High volume low calories meals are the way to go)

Girls I dated mostly are there for their own interest (marry me, revenge from ex bf, finally someone I can show to my parents, etc.)

I guess being tall (6ft2), having a large back and shoulders, working hard on having a good sense of humour and not being shy and socializing more really helps.

tl;dr: being a fat man is like trying to grow crops in the desert.

Chubby guys, probably. ESPECIALLY chubby girls tend to prefer men who are a little bigger because they feel smaller compared to them.

Fat guys, probably not, and the only guys who like fat women are like hardcore fetishists, probably not a significant amount of men honestly.
