I think this comes down to individual differences in how we handle stressful situations. I think in the past 5 years I've had one spell of 3 months without sex. I was really distracted by other physical activity at the time though. I think that's how I got through it without getting too desperate.

I'd easily say that men tend to do worse, but I don't think the difference is quite as big as a lot of people probably think.

I love sex, but I don't need it. It's something fun to do with someone you like/love/are attracted to, but in the absence of such a person? I'm not going to seek it out. The relationship leads to sex, not the other way around.
