This is actually a classic example of AMALT, and most TRPers will happily agree with honesty that men predominantly value women's appearance a lot. i.e, while personality and intelligence all matter too, a woman's looks matters to a huge degree, almost dwarfing the other variables. In fact, looks matter to a huge degree in the statistical majority of most normal men, but TRPers are the ones who are openly honest about it even if it isn't politically correct.

A woman could be as an intelligent and brilliant genius like Emmy Noether, or Barbara McClintock, but if she's ugly, that intelligence isn't going to overcome her lack of looks while consider her for a LTR. While many women are willing marry physically unattractive men for reasons other than physical attraction (security, comfort, wealth, etc.), very very few men will do so with physically unattractive women. This is another instance of sexual dimorphism in between the genders, such is life.

So yes, men do place tremendous importance on looks, but that's due to natural evolution and biology. Men are naturally predisposed to place more emphasis on youth and beauty. It's to men what wealth and status is to women.

A woman's good-hearted nature does not cause boners. Nice girls are only nice because they aren't attractive(they might not be fat or ugly, but that alone doesn't make them hot) and their niceness is done because they are trying to get what they want by being nice.

Beautiful women can act like cold-hearted terminators.. because they are beautiful and they will always have men to take care of them, both emotionally and financially.

Unless a woman wants a top tier man then appearance doesn't really matter. A woman can be a fat slob with acne and a high WHR and still get a reasonably decent guy to wife her up and knock her up with a few kids. The RP assumes that all women only find top tier men attractive. This is why they place so much weight upon female appearance, because they believe that all fat, ugly female slobs only want top tier men. Also, the fact that most RP men are white middle class speaks volumes also. White, liberal middle class people are probably the most image focused and self absorbed in the entire world. They want the best, they chase the best and they believe that they are owed the best and they are all special snowflakes. They don't see that everybody else around the rest of the world doesn't place such a huge amount of weight on these things. I can attest as a less attractive woman that I have never struggled with feeling sexually invisible at all and I have always had options and I managed to find myself a husband and have a family. None of the women in my immediate family are attractive women and we are all married or partnered with children and we all have sex. Heck some of us even have men willing to financially support us ontop of having sex with us and having children with us. I understand that all I need to attract men and extract their resources is a working reproductive system. I might not be able to attract every man or as many men as a woman with better arranged plumbing than I have but I am certainly not destined to a life of cats like so many of these men claim I should be.

Unfortunately, yes. I'm new here, but i have an interesting story. I somehow morphed into a natural alpha about 9 years ago. I had women I didn't know what to do with. Gorgeous women, pretty women, nice women, super nice women. So, at some point, I met an awesome woman, she's a crown prosecutor. The conversation was awesome, the sex was off the charts. But she was a 6.5 at best. I was dating upper 8s, low 9s at the time. I didn't take this further because she just wasn't as pretty as I wanted. Fast forward to when I met my current gf (never married). She was the hottest girl I ever dated. She dropped a doctor she was dating for me because I radiated self-confidence and by then, knew what to do . (I was also really good looking, which helped a lot) I'm still with her, 2 kids later. Down side? She lost all the wonderful libido she had, fell into a depression for many years, doesn't now shit about science and politics, current affairs and anything that I would love to have a conversation about. She's a great mother and also works part time to help with our life style so it's not all bad. If I could go back in time, I would tell myself to stop being so vain and settle with a nice girl. Not necessarily a hot or the hottest girl. Based on my experiences, the hottest women had the most issues. The sweet looking, cute women had the most to offer.

In all seriousness though, we cant decide what arouses us without drastic mental olympics, no more than we can decide that we are not hungry, or to make our heart stop beating. It is part of a system that is outside of the realm of the conscious process. All we can decide is how we manage and react to our urges through our rational minds, but we cannot conjure desire out of nothing.

To be fair, we've had this obesity epidemic going on since the 20th century ended. A woman who was considered fat, ugly, or even hideous during the 20th century, when those songs were written, might be considered pretty today.

If men's standards were really so high obese and ugly women wouldn't stand a chance, they would be in the same boat as betas not being able to generate even the least bit of attraction from their target. If anything I would argue that men's standards on women's appearance isn't high enough.

You're looking at amoral mating strategies from the perspective of a sapiosexual. Primitive males have no reason to value anything in a woman bar optimal genetics (youth, beauty, fertility, waist-to-hip ratio etc.)

For the rest of us in the 21st century

Physical attraction supersedes all other forms of attraction. I don't know why this is a question. Society treats more attractive people better, they associate more positive traits with them and their presence just makes you feel good. Only a small minority has enough critical thinking to see past the body, but that means nothing when you look at the big picture.

This doesn't apply if you are Red Pill and can manage to spin multiple hot plates and keep abundance mentality. Then, if your hot plate demands gifts as an implied prerequisite for her to remain with you, then you can just next her and still have sex with your other plates.

Of course, Blue Pill strategy is to do exactly what you say and find a woman who is a balance of personality and looks and to stay committed to her. The problem is that TRP doesn't trust that the personality of a woman will stay consistent and that eventually she'll behave in a way that will either betray you or will make your life miserable. If you believe AWALT, you might as well try to find the hottest plates you can, because all women no matter what their personality is will eventually behave just like that HB9 or 10 model/stripper.
