Already had exactly that topic before; this is my take on it (including the comment that warranted my response):

If the man was in his 30s/40s/50s trpers would be saying, See? See? Women are attracted to much older guys. This proves it.

But not a word of analysis from trp on the fact he's only 26. With her being 22, that's only 4 years difference - they're practically the same age.

Because that guy is a wish fulfillment fantasy, practically everything rolled into one. I don't doubt that most women would prefer a guy closer to their age, however you don't get that in reality (and I dare to say that even if a super handsome incredibly naughty mid 20s selfmade billionaire existed, he would be more occupied with bedding a different girl or two every night than with looking out for an inconspicuous young girl to fall in love with).

TRP's stance towards age isn't so much about women having electra complexes, but about women being attracted to what men with advanced age can bring to the table: an older guy (relatively speaking) is simply more likely to check more boxes.

This story would be wish fulfillment porn even if there was no actual porn in it. It's written for middle-aged women who want to feel young again and therefore identify with a young woman who coincidentally falls for her first sex partner (who is perfect in every regard which includes the fact that he's roughly the same age as her).

Christian Grey is 27 but he has the status, money and confidence of a 37 or 47 years old and in fact, way more of those than 99% of men in their thirties or forties. Increase in those characteristics is the reason why men peak in their thirties according to redpill theory.

Besides, despite a claim of him being 27, he actually has the physical appearance of a man in his thirties (I just googled it and Jamie Dornan was 31 when cast).

Plus Fifty Shades is often referred to as "mommy porn". So I am not even sure the category of women he appeals to the most are women in their young twenties.

TL;DR: Christian Grey is not a 27 years-old man. He is a fantasy cumulating the best traits of men at every age.

(For the record, I am not a redpiller and I don't believe men in their forties have more success with women in their twenties than their younger counterparts. I just don't think Christian Grey contradicts redpill theory).

The SMV of most guys is highest in their 30s.

But looks peak at 22 or so.

TRP exaggerates the SMV peak of men imo. Yes men peak later but not usually THAT much later. More like late 20s to mid-late 30s. Also, men peak later assuming that they follow the TRP plan of having a good paying job, being in good shape, dressing well and having game. Guys who drop out of community college, play in bands and wind up as bar tenders are more likely to peak in SMV at 23 than 33.

Ultimately, male SMV has more variables to it because female attraction is more holistic than male attraction, which is almost entirely based on appearance. In modern society, it takes years and even decades for males to build up social value. Female attractiveness ultimately revolves around their appearance reflecting peak fertility and maximum offspring potential, which peak in her late teens and early 20s.

Your anecdote of your uncle proves nothing more than my anecdotes of a close friend of mine with VERY RP esque views dating an 18 year old at 36. He is now 38 and she is 20, they arent engaged yet but plan on marrying. Literally all of my successful friends with any social skills at all are dating 20-22 year old girls in the 26-30 range. It may not be the norm, but it is definitely possible. TRP is not about being the norm, its about manipulating the system to get what you want. You CAN get young cute girls in your late 20s/30s provided you go about it the right way and play the odds enough.

I would actually argue that the physical peak for a man is between 25-35, and for women it is really more like 15-25 (though we artificially bump that up to 18 given our legal culture).

So Christian Grey is, in addition to being the most rich and powerful man in Seattle, in his physical prime age group.

What you're picking up on is the idea that a man's SMV isn't as tightly tied to his age as is a woman's. That doesn't mean that men don't have physical primes like women do.

Many women are willing to date significant older partners than men are. They may say that the men are more mature, but in large it comes down to financial maturity and the ability to take them out and buy them things.

Because when you boil it down, the complaints of "we never go out" is a financial complaint much of the time.

Correlation is not causation. We say 30s to 40s because it correlates well with wealth and financial power. But that doesn't mean that someone 27 can't have the wealth and power, it just means that, on aggregate, we don't find that very often.

Because TRP doesn't say women like "old" men, but simply, "older" men. This is because women are hypergamous. They want men who are of equal or higher status than them. But for the most part, women want men who are physically, socially, mentally and financially better than them, not so much, "equal" to them.

As an older man, he has the advantage of being naturally physically, socially, mentally and financially better than their younger male counterparts. These young men are still working their way to become similar to the older man. As a younger male, your status is pretty low compared to an older man who's already had time to establish himself. And since women are hypergamous, they want the guy who's more established (read: high status and therefore, successful).

The fact that women like Christian Grey is because:

He's physically successful - Tall, Low fat, good amount of muscle, dresses well, eats well.
He's socially successful - He's respected, has women around him all the time (sure he may have put them there because he's the employer, but it works either way), he's assertive, confident, and dominant. He also doesn't look like the type of guy to take shit from just anybody. He looks like he can get any girl, so he has passive dread game going on. He's constantly demonstrating higher value.
He's mentally successful - He's smart and ambitious. I can only make this conclusion since he is a billionaire.
He's financially successful - I think that's already been established.

He is the epitome of a successful bachelor.

BP is confusing an absolute fantasy and giving each trait equal weight and as such is being either ignorant or dishonest. Confidence, money, intelligence, and youth each have different values in men AND women.

Guys we've played this game right..... the tits of celebrity x the face of celebrity y and the ass of celebrity z, the personality of celebrity A? Except as we all know we put different weights on different traits.

Oh my ideal girl has traits, and she'd probably have a college education...... but college tends to bring in degenerate influences and so may adversely affect traits that I consider more important than formal education, she's probably old as fuck at 21 too. :/ So no college girl for me realistically.

Now you have here an image of a "ubermensch" some dude with the resources, confidence and maturity of a 30 year old in a 27 year old's body. Congrats females learned to play the "celebrity game" some 20 years later. :/ Now do all these traits have equal weight?
