This is a legitimate question that I am looking for a serious answer to. I want to know how women let themselves become emotionally abused.

It seems at least half the women I meet now tell me they have experienced some sort of abusive relationship be in sexual, violent, and almost 90% of the time, emotional. It became so prevalent and is thrown around so lightly that every time I hear it I started to discount it. Every time a women was unhappy in a relationships she was claiming emotional abuse. I don't want to disregard the people who have actually been abused, but why does it seem common in women? Men get mistreated and manipulated in relationships all the time to but it is rarely called emotional abuse. Men don't seem so eager to take up the role of victim and instead say it was the result of them being "blinded by love" to see that they needed out of a bad relationship. But cases like this just blow my mind.

How could a woman let herself be treated like that? It infuriates me and I just want to tell her to "man the fuck" up and get out of the relationship. She says she was forced to do all these things but how? Was the threat of violence used? I know manipulation can be a strong tool but even when they know they need to leave they won't do it. Are all the women i I meet really that weak?

I know I am victim blaming here but I almost am to the point where I don't think that emotional abuse is a real thing because it's the only type of abuse that you have to let happen to you because you didn't stand up for yourself (unless you are trapped in a household with the abuser) and just because you were unhappy with someone's behavior doesn't mean you were abused.

Shed some light on this for me.
