Confirmation bias. If something conforms to their existing worldview it's requires no further examination. Everyone does it, but it seems to become horribly concentrated on the internet.

TRP is far too mired in suedo-psychology to ever describe itself as skeptical.

Redpill is becoming kind of famous for not questioning things, and it leads people to think of it as a cult. I don't think it is a cult, but I think it is definitely getting that reputation because, partly, it doesn't seem to have an internal questioning mechanism.

This is the nature of reddit, not just the red pill. The upvote downvote system ensures that when a group of people agree on something, it's thrust to the forefront. When someone asks skeptical questions that might jeopardize a groups beliefs, those questions are thrust downward never to be seen.

I'm very much critical of such a system. And while you can choose how comments are sorted, the default sorting ensures that comments that go against the grain are suppressed. It's a systematic reinforcement of confirmation bias.

TRPs still can't seem to wrap their heads around the most basic of concepts like men and women are human beings. Human. But this doesn't bother them.

And I've never seen a RP on the internet that could discuss feminism without sounding completely uninformed. Again, this doesn't seem to bother them.

But yes, it does have this bizarre cult like appeal. The newbies are hurt and vulnerable, and RP makes them feel good about themselves through bigotry. Kind of like white supremacist groups. They prey on the vulnerable,

I don't think it's really productive to debate these RPs because the underlying cause for their beliefs is not the belief itself, but the internal issues they struggle with. They NEED the bigotry in order to feel better. That's why there's a lack of skepticism.

Most of my stories, posts, etc. have significant details changed, simply because I don't know who amongst my social circle is secretly reading Reddit.

I view every story with sceptism. TRP posters are no different.

Have you ever spent a significant amount of time chasing women around trying to have sex with them? Because unless you do, you don't know what it's like. Once you have that experience, it's not so hard to evaluate field reports. If it sounds like BS, it's pretty obvious. And, I'd like to add, most field reports don't even end with the guy getting as much as a kiss. That's pretty real.

The purpose of field reports is to give an idea of what one can do in the field. Way back in seddit, they detailed various shit tests dealt with, attitudes one can have and general actions to take. In reading those, one can gain an idea of how to act in a similar situation. This builds confidence.

What does it matter if reporter A didn't really bang two girls in a club bathroom? The words said and actions taken matter more.

If you have had success with women by being balls-out arrogant and redpill, maybe it seems less unbelievable to you. I don't believe it will always work, but it works enough (comfortably) that rejection doesn't hurt one bit so maybe this question is more a testament to how much bluepill men are forced to see each woman in their life as significant.

Stories are called out, but it is usually because of inconsistency rather than "this just can't be true"

If you want an actual answer instead of a circlejerk, is the short of it is that I skip over stories I find far fetched. I might downvote them, I might just ignore and let others. There is no way for me to prove it or disprove it.

I seldom call it out, because ridicule reminds me of the shrill tone of TBP or SRS, if I don't believe something but it doesn't contradict my principles, then I don't debate it. I dont debate stories in general, I debate principles.

How ironic that this thread exhibits everything you're talking about as far as credulity. A quick skim of TRP would show you wide and reflexive skepticism, even about comparatively mundane things one would think would be widely accepted. Anecdotal OPs increasingly often have posts beginning with "fake" as their highest rated post.

First, many of the popular submissions do contain posts of skepticism or incredulity, so while it's true there is no standard vetting process, to say skepticism is lacking or absent is incorrect.

Second, the nature of TRP is that whether a submission is verified or objectively true is secondary to its moral. It doesn't matter if user 'sexythrowaway42069' actually got cheated on by his girlfriend or not - many RP posters have witnessed or experienced that exact same thing, and that example serves their interest in the particular context of the sub. Contrary to common belief, some of us are capable of characterizing information in more nuanced ways than just 'true' or 'false'.

Third, this is a phenomenon that is not restricted to TRP, but is, in fact, Reddit-wide. For every RP user crowing about some chump's redditlog, there are tens to hundreds to thousands of posters in the original thread not verifying the veracity of the submission and offering their advice and impressions as if it were real. The vast majority of users have no issue with this as a matter of principle; it only becomes a problem when the particular value being expressed is contrary to their own.

In such cases, the reaction is not, "this is funny/enjoyable/personally-relevant, therefore validity is irrelevant," but, "this offends me, therefore verification is required." This is understandable where the post would be illegal or demonstrates clear harm to a specific party, but laughing about an anonymous, promiscuous woman does not meet such a test, and external criticisms fail to make this important distinction to their discredit.
