Considering the kid is biologically still part of my family, I don’t see why I’d punish the kid by rejecting it. I’d probably break up with mommy, tho, assuming she was trying to deceive about the parentage. I’d probably put in a fuck ton of effort to get custody, too. I have a huge soft spot for kids and that’s still my niece or nephew, and apparently I’m the only adult in the room.

I fostered a pair of nephews before when my sister fucked up. They’re still close to me to this day and call me for advice now that they’re getting old enough to move out.

There was a pretty epic "AITA" a month or so back dealing with exactly this. Brother cucks brother who is about to get married. Entire family ends up a warzone. About to get married brother's fiance was with child at the time. The AITA post was by a sister that wanted the cucked brother to "just get over it".

It was fucking hilarious and sad at the same time.

Thankfully I only have a sister so I don't have to deal with this theoretical - but from the responses in the AITA thread - it was very apparent that most wouldn't deal with such a betrayal.

It will be easier for me to abandon the kid, not harder, because the creation of that kid involved betrayal by two people who I foolishly considered my family, not one.

It doesn’t complicate anything for me. She’s a cheating whore and fuck my brother. Kid is their problem. The only way I would still be the father is if I found out when the kid was like 17 or something.

You know, there's a version of this that brings me comfort and that is the version where my hypothetical brother(I'm an only child) has his own damn wife and kids, so then I can just be my own person and know that my parents are satisfied that their genes are passed down and I don't have to worry about having grand kids. Brother or not though, I'd have the same reaction to cucking which would be to leave the wife and kids, maybe even escorting them to my brother's house and throwing them on the curb.

This is some kind of kinship game theory angle, it's the sort of situation I'd have to say consciously I feel I'd act as if we weren't related but I wouldn't really know until I experience it

I'd 100% abandon the mom, but with how good a relationship myself and the brother have, I'm forced to assume that for something like this to happen would involve some scheme to keep her away from having a kid outside my family until I could be informed, maybe to avoid legal trouble/ unreasonable child support? Sure I could see it as a betrayal on his part, but under the circumstances it could just as easily be an interception of her betrayal. She's going to be the bad guy in 99% of cases.
