Neither, and the false dichotomy here makes me doubt your intentions immediately.

People are people. Of course women care about looks - so do men. But this post reads like you're just not willing to accept that women are people in the same way that you are.

That said, I think any worldview that gives credence to the idea that self-improvement has no impact on your life, that exercise doesn't make you look better, and that confidence is not an attractive trait, is a worldview that is at odds with observable reality.

What redpill and blackpill have in common is that they're both comforting lies.

The red pill is comforting because it tells you that the world has rules. Like a video game, if you do x, y and z others will react in a predictable way that will give you what you want. It tells you that complex dating/relationship problems will magically disappear if you essentially complete an itinerary of tasks. Failure is only ever due to not correctly going through this list.

The blackpill is comforting because it tells you that your problems aren't your fault and there's no point in trying to fix them. It provides a safe space in which workable personality flaws don't exist and every bad thing can be blamed on someone or something else. It represents a complete lack of personal accountability.

Both of these are, of course, very alluring. Our stupid mammal brains love being lazy and strive to find patterns and rules in everything. Add a pinch of tribal behaviour and pseudoscience and these ideologies are about as tempting for our minds as sugar is for our stomachs. In the short term, they make you feel good, but just like junk food, they do nothing for you in reality.

The truth is that the entire world is made up of people quite a lot like you - selfish, irrational, unpredictable. The burden that we all have to take is to accept that people are multi-dimensional, good and bad under different circumstances, and that you can never really know what others are thinking or what they will do. It's hard sometimes, and everyone will have some bad experiences mixed in with the good, but that's just part of being human, and locking yourself away behind a junkfood ideology won't do anything but make you miserable.

The most accurate to reality is that if you focus most on being a good person and happy with yourself and care more heavily about whether your partner is a good person as opposed to how hot they are, then you'll more likely end up with a good person who will not leave you or cheat on you.

And if they do, your confidence from being happy with yourself will mean that while you'll feel a sense of loss, losing them will not affect your identity because you have so heavily invested in yourself and your own wellbeing.

Whenever I see people making claims like this, I can't help but think of my step-brother, who is exceedingly unattractive and 'looks like an incel', actively dating and having sex for years before anyone showed any interest in me, a girl, who has always been a girl. Guess redpill and blackpill folks forget fat girls in their equations. /SHRUG

Anyways, fuck the pills 'cause they're bullshit. The hottest guy will be lonely if he's an asshole, and 'ugly' guys will have a long-term, loving partner if they're kind, mature, open, supportive, and willing to change and grow.

Human beings are not as shallow as incels, MGTOWs, and pillers believe we are. Human beings can be cruel, yes, but we are also capable of deeply compassionate, altruistic, selfless, loving actions. I think one of the worst things (besides the abuse and manipulation of women and general misogyny) about black/redpill philosophy is the distinct lack of belief in humanity. If you are unwilling to believe in the inherent goodness of people, you will never see it in action.

Women, like men, have multiple factors they use when guaging 'attraction'. Also factors like short term vs long term mating are important because what people value changes based on whether they want short term or long term mating.

Good looks matter, but they are just part of the issue. Pick a guy who is extremely good looking but also extremely pathetic and submissive, extremely dumb and disorganized. Constantly in debt with no economic future to speak of, who constantly whines and complains. Then give him autism. He won't do that well in the dating game. He will get lots of IOIs, but very few lays or girlfriends.

Also endless guys have gone to the gym and seen returns on their SMV for it. As long as a guy has a V shaped torso with a waist 75% or less than the size of his shoulders, it will trigger female IOIs.

Looks matter. A lot. But they are just one factor when women determine a man's value on the SMP. Women value good face and a good body but they also value if the guy will be a good provider, protector, parent and partner too. At least for long term mating.

For short term mating, a woman values a mans looks more and his personality less, and the personality traits she craves change. Instead of looking for a guy with good provider and protector personality traits, she looks for dark triad traits in short term mating.

Guys complain about how hard it is to get women, yet I'd say the majority of them haven't even approached a woman, or had about 1 or 2 bad girlfriends and gave up dating.

Being physically attractive does help, sure - but there are a lot of physically attractive guys which still don't get girls. I'd say succeeding with girls is about 80% internal (ie. what you think,beliefs etc) and 20% external.

I'm not incredibly phyiscally attractive myself, but I have been working out consistently and losing some weight - and generally feeling happier about myself. I do get more attention from males (more respect) and females, but I believe its more because they can sense I am becoming more confident in myself (which was not intended, but a pleasant side affect) rather than the phyiscal fitness.

Also a big problem with dating in general: People think WAAAY too much about it. Thousands and thousands of articles are dedicated to something which is actually quite simple. Stop reading/writing a lot about it, and keep trying until you succeed. The masses of information on dating only makes it worse for the majority.

For example, if your the hottest _______ among a few.... Your basically the only romantic option for those hooked on it.

I see it all the time with dudes who have Asian fever.

There is a mental disorder (actually, a few) around the "ideal" body image. Would you like to have one?

Anorexia, body dysmorphic disorder, bulimia, probably others.

What do you think is true? Do you think everything is based on everyone's looks? Look at the most successful, talented, wanted people in the world. Not all of them are attractive, or perfect, physically. Maybe movie stars, but that makes sense, their looks are their job.

Is life's truth really attractiveness, or how to snag and keep a woman? Or is it something else?
