I’m all for alimony. She gave up her career and it helped you thrive. Fine.

But first of all, anything after 10 million shouldn’t count. At that point, her staying home isn’t helping you. So no one should be taking 200m from someone.

But what I personally hate is child supporting matching lifestyle. Where you don’t owe her alimony, but it’s unfair for your kids to visit you in a mansion and her in an apartment. So you need to give her 50k a month child support.

And also what I hate is here in Canada if you live together 6 months, you’re common law. So same rights as marriage afaik

Add to that the insane recent ruling (I forget from which country) where the judge ruled they were common law even though they never lived together. He had to pay her support just for having casually dated her.

Why bother with marriage.

Happiness: Personal goals, financial achievement, friends.

Relaxation: Hobbies

Closeness: My dog

Sex: Learn a foreign language and you can have young, shapely women from Asia and Latin America falling all over for you instead of petulant cows from the West. Even those who can say only a few sentences get laid left and right. I know what I speak of (just youtube or google it).

At the end of the day, I still have my hobbies, my money, my sanity, my choice of women if/when I want it.

I personally think things will evolve in such a way that marriage will gradually fade out all together. Cohabitation without marriage will be the new norm and women will be powerless to do anything about it. Women will be kept on their toes knowing the man can walk away at any time. Women will strive to keep their men happy once again. There will be no complacency on the side of the woman. Men are the gatekeepers of commitment after all. A paradigm shift if you will.
