Most people's problem is being neurotic and underconfident, if anything.

Think about the premise of your post for a second. We all know that one fat chubby guy who lucked out and has a hot girlfriend. We all know the long suffering doormat chick who has been with the same std having, druggie, cheating loser for 5 years.

Are we to presume THESE guys are 'hot shit' because all that matters is "what you can get"

Of course not. See, dating isn't fair. It doesn't care about what a good person you are, or even how much value you have... I mean it does matter, sure. But if it was the only thing that matters then no low value male would ever get with a high value female, or vice versa... and the evidence of my eyes tells me that just isn't true.

In reality, the world would be much better off if more men thought of themselves as hot shit. Because men who think that put themselves out there. They enjoy themselves. They don't take one rejection as too much of a blow to the ego, because they are Hot Shit after all, so the chick must just be dumb... time to move on to the next chick.

Women enjoy being the passive gender that gets approached, persistent men tend to eventually find gfs and not end up in the pit of inceldom... it's a win for everyone.

The real problem is people who have frail underdeveloped egos who EXPLODE or get extremely bitter after being rejected only a handful of times, and spend the rest of their waking lives hating on the opposite gender. Less ego doesn't benefit anyone in the long run.

It might be satisfying for YOU, to go through your life thinking "Heh, SHITTY undeserving people, heh, getting their comeuppance. Lol low value SUCKERS getting their egos SHREDDED, nyeheh. Fuck em heh. I'm better than they are"... yknow that kind of, everyone else losing = me winning mentality... but like........ in reality, it doesn't actually help anything. Frail ego people losing even harder and become mass shooters or MGTOWs who cum in shampoo bottles in order to get revenge does not actually equate to a better world for anyone. Just because someone else is (in your view deservedly) suffering doesn't mean anything was in fact, gained. The world actually gets better for everyone when other people become more confident, successful and attractive.

Agreed. This is why I tell other men to get involved in some of of physical hobby like weight lifting, long distance cardio or marial arts.

Really humbles you when you compare yourself to the actual best of the best and you learn you aren't shit.

If the question is if people will shoot for their looksmatch after being rejected, the answer is probably not - individuals will try to buy a mansion for a penny if they could.

When you say the word ‘settle’, I assume you’re talking about if women will settle. Men will shoot their shot but understand their league - women have no concept of this. They’ve been taught to ‘deserve’, things: it’s the reason that they can’t figure out why Tyrone or Chad won’t commit.

Women, if a guy is blatantly 2 points above you ... he definitely knows it, and you most likely won’t keep him. Shoot across.

Oh yeah, take it from my personal experience. I used to have a massive ego, like I genuinely believed I was attractive. I knew I was no model, but I thought I was hot. However things led to seeing how delusional I was being and now I have no ego and absolutely hate myself. Like I had an absolute mental breakdown and I’m still having one to this day about it.

I have turned down many guys, especially the ones looking for hook-ups and ONS (might have something to do with the fact that I'm a black girl at a pwi and a lot of guys my age are "curious"). Some take it well, others not so much. The difference is attractive people decide that the ones who turn them down are the problem, while less confident people are more likely to decide they themselves are the problem.

Really a 5 can't settle for a 5 ....that's their level .....but every 5 thinks they're a 7 for some reason.

Settling means making a compromise (in this case with life) and dating your level (unless you are max level) therefore is settling.

I only read the title not your pot but I got rejected by a guy a few months back and it didn't slow me down. I still think I only deserve the absolute best and wont settle. I'm 31 and I've been single for over a year. Still not settling.

I think doing badly in dating squashes your ego at all. I mean lot's of people are infuriated at how much incels feel the right to express themselves so confidently.

the idea that people should be pairing up with their "looksmatch" is complete nonsense. first of all, there are too many different variables and individual preferences and desires and unique personal situations to ever be able to say that two people are objectively a match for each other.

and that's not really how it works anyway. everyone wants the best possible partner that they can get, not just someone who is their equivalent match. and everyone of us knows people who hit way out of their supposed "league" so we know it's possible.

but you are correct that if someone isn't happy with their current sex/dating/relationship life and they can't or don't want to improve themselves, then really their only option is to lower their standards and expectations. but it's not because they are supposed to pair up with their equivalent, it's just basic supply and demand.
