Men’s group chats are just cesspools. Awful. I peeped one boyfriends and while he didn’t talk that way, he still put up with his friends doing it.

It’s rare to meet a man who doesn’t have at least one misogynistic, racist, or otherwise vile friend. When that friend is revealed to be an ass the guy always says that he “doesn’t even like that guy” yet can never explain why he keeps hanging out with him. The reality is that they don’t really care. Anyone who tolerates crap like misogynistic jokes and as you said otherwise “weird shit” from their friends secretly doesn’t think it’s all that bad. If they did they would be so grossed out by it that they would never talk to those people again.

Imagine you were added to a group chat with someone making rape jokes. You would fucking bail immediately right? Exactly, so why doesn’t he?

Spot on. My ex’s best friend of like ten years was the worst person I think I’ve ever met. Racist, misogynistic, disgusting, slut shaming, obnoxious manchild who eventually tried to sleep with me. He had no problem with any of this. A guys friend group and what company he keeps says a lot about him.

Yep. My ex had a group chat with his other vile midlife crisis-having friends and he would tell me some of the things they would joke about. It was absolutely repellant, and made me really anxious when he would hang out with them since men will throw all morals out the window when trying to impress their friends. So glad to be rid of that stomach-churning misery and anxiety.

Yup. Men’s personality and character are deeply influenced by his friends and environment I think. I found out my ex is in this group chat with his friends where they would share any nudes they came across to, or them and their exes’ private intimate videos after they broke up. He promised not to share mine to his friends and I believed him. Biggest and hardest lesson learned.

I was in a work groupchat with males from work, it turned into who was the hottest. And why I was the thick goth black chick that dressed weird. BTW I'm not goth I just wear black lipstick and colored hair. I never forgot. Years later one of those guys hit me up stating he wanted to take me out. I said as a goth woman I don't date broke n-. He was offended. He said oh we all thought you were beautiful. And so does every other man I know do you want a cookie, because you sure won't get a min more of my time BLOCKT.

I feel like we can't win though. Either men have a group of vile bros they hang with OR all of their friends are women. My ex had tons women friends and while he wasn't flirting/entertaining any they were ex's or old crushes or some such shit. Honestly I've never dated a guy who has good decent kind friends with no past sexual tension involved.

Discord is generally for the types of men who make video games or other hobbies the only defining personality they have. A lot of mental illness and misogyny on it, not sure why I even still have it but there are communities I like being in even if I wished more women were present. That's a telling sign anyways if there are next to no women because most men are being so degenerative and dysfunctional that they push women out. They're 'boys' clubs' first and foremost. I cringe every time I see a profile picture with big boobs, a sex worker, or an anime girl.
