Summary:

Here is a useful mental rule-of-thumb I've used to quickly reduce inherently beta behavior and come up with simple answers to seemingly difficult situations. This is particularly effective for newer guys who feel that learning too much Game is causing them to micromanage interactions or get overwhelmed out in the field.

Body:

From what I see, a lot of new TRP guys have backgrounds similar to this: 2+ decades of putting the pussy on the pedestal, leading to a myriad of beta behaviors such as overthinking interactions, avoidance of women/social due to fear of rejection, and a lack of standing up for themselves when others take advantage. We're not going to talk about why this situation arose for many young men, there's enough material on the side bar for that.

Instead, we're going to talk about what you can do to get a jump start on deleting these old behaviors, and therefore, mindsets. You see, beliefs and actions are intimately linked, both cause and effect each other in a complex way nobody fully understands. But what's clear is this: changing beliefs is much harder, and a much longer process than changing actions.

Therefore new guys have a problem: do they have to go monk mode for years before they can get some pussy? Hell no! In fact, I would argue that going completely monk mode for such a long period of time would retard one's self-development more than necessary. I don't remember who, but one poster had a great analogy for monk mode: it's like physiotherapy/rehab. Yeah, take a few weeks (or months) off after your gf of 3 years has the football team run a train on her. I get that. But for new guys who are just realizing how much they suck at this Game, there's no point getting physio if you aren't injured yet.

So we gotta get you into practice. But your brain always gives you the wrong answers, generates the wrong emotions, and generally stops you from applying what you've learned effectively. Here are the problems:

1) It takes too long to rewrite beliefs without having positive feedback from good interactions (you watched Disney for 20 years, are you gonna read the sidebar for that long?).

2) You can't get good feedback without taking the right actions in your interactions.

3) You can't take the right actions because your beliefs are beta as fuck.

To short-circuit this chicken-and-egg scenario, we're going to turn to our friend (likely enemy at some point), Chad.

Meet Chad.

Chad is white, 6ft 2" tall, football quarterback in college, communications major with a 2.1 GPA, and comes from an affluent WASP community were his father is VP at a hedge fund. On his 16th birthday his dad bought him a new BMW where he fucked Jenny in the backseat, your high school oneitus. He always has 10+ girls on the go blowing up his phone. When he's not chilling with his frat bros, he's fucking that cute girl in your chemistry class whose name he can't even remember.

Aside from rustling your jimmies for fun, the picture I want to paint of Chad is this: absolute abundance. Life comes so fucking easy to this guy. And he's not even that smart or sharp a guy either, but because of his confidence, every word that comes out of his mouth is gold. He was born into high SMV, and he takes full advantage of it. Everyone responds to him positively, it's that simple. I want you to really take a minute to understand this guy. Imagine being in his shoes for a second.

  • Now take a look at the latest message from that girl you haven't responded to because you don't know what to say. What would Chad text back?

  • You see a girl standing alone in the corner at a party on her phone, you think she's cute. What would Chad do if he saw this?

  • You're on a date, you get a shit test - "are you just trying to sleep with me?" What would Chad say?

  • You approach at a bar, get a cold rejection. How much of a fuck would Chad give?

  • Your friends are breaking your balls over some shit that happened a few years ago. Would Chad get butthurt?

You get the point. Instead of mentally compiling a list of every single scenario and how you would optimally act, here's a simpler policy: just ask yourself, What Would Chad Do?

Here's why this works. After a few smaller interactions with your "Chad hat" on (sounds kinda gay but bear with me), you will inevitably get better social feedback. Thus your brain will open up to the possibility of applying this mindset more and more. It may feel scary to do, but let's be honest, as a new guy you're scared of everything anyways. Might as well try some actions that can be more effective. We call that courage.

Notice that we didn't fundamentally change your beliefs at all. You're just taking a simple acting class to supplement all the other good stuff you should be doing: lifting, reading, improving your career, and going out.

If you really do understand Chad to the core (you can probably think of analogous examples in your life), you will be able to come up with "close enough" Chad actions (or "Chadtions") that will get the ball rolling.

Over time, these actions, and the feedback you get as a result, will start changing your beliefs. They will change faster because you will not be limited by your previous persona.

And that's my final point. Pushback to this idea will be in the form of, "But that's not who I am, it's not authentic to me, it's all so fake!" Nigga, listen here. You went through 2+ decades of other people pumping bullshit thoughts and stimuli into your brain, so that one day you could be a good BB and maybe have Chad's leftovers. WWCD is a simple conditioning technique that will help you take actions leading to results you want, faster. The difference here is that you can consciously choose to do this.

There's nothing special about "you", you are just the result of various stimuli that your brain has learned to organize into thought patterns called beliefs, which lead to your actions. Therefore, by embracing WWCD (or some variant), you are simply changing, not being "inauthentic". Is lifting "inauthentic" for your body because you've always had small muscles?

Lessons Learned:

  • WWCD is an effective short-cut for newer guys to finding the right actions quickly without having to sit at home learning a shit ton of theory.

  • Beliefs and actions cause and effect each other, but by taking actions that get the feedback we want, we can faster change our beliefs, which will further enhance our actions (a virtuous cycle).

  • There is nothing special about who you are up until this point. Take a step back, decide where you want to take yourself, and find an effective path to get there.
