A self imposed issue. Very few men care about an "education gap" when it comes to dating. Having an "education" is not the same thing as possessing intelligence or wisdom, but you would not know that with all the supposed conventional wisdom claiming that graduating from college makes you intelligent. While this would likely be less of an issue with the medical field, there still exists the belief that not going to college means you are not intelligent.

If you only gage how intelligent someone is based on their education level, it is revealing in many regards. It shows you are too lazy to try and determine someone's intelligence by observation. It shows that you are likely not capable of being able to detect intelligence. It shows that you have a groupthink mentality, since you can only see someone as intelligent unless they jumped through all the hoops that are approved by an authority you blindly trust.

So these women could find men of a similar intelligence if they are willing and able to practice observation skills, rather than find out if a man has a piece of paper. But they have been programmed to think of higher education as the only means of determining intelligence.

Look ladies. When you had a more traditional society, males were expected to be the breadwinners, as a result, most males occupied most of the higher-end jobs most of the time. Whilst this obviously disadvantaged females in the earnings catagory, it aided them when searched for men who are there 'superiors', which is what women want. Example below.

There are ten doctors at a local hospital, they're all males. There are ten eligible bachelors in that group. If you fast-forward fifty years, there are an equal number of female and male doctors on that group. In theory, these two groups should pair off, but this takes no account of the fact women want higher status men (of which there are none) and men don't care about a woman's status. Therefore, there is significant pressure from 'below' that these women have to deal with, and they just can't.

Essentially, women focusing on their careers to attract men is the equivilant of men focusing on levelling up an RPG character to impress a woman. Utterly fruitless.

Most of the article concentrates on the difficulty of finding a higher status male to date since these are highly educated and high socioeconomic status women. It is only as an aside at the end of the article that she suggests that maybe, maybe a lower status man could be an option. It denies the strong evolutionary and biological drive of hypergamy. It may work for some though to find a doctor to marry. I was that beta, supplicant, physician in training and eventual surgical specialist that sacrifice everything to an entitled narcissistic female. The same self sacrificial that lead you to a career in medicine ( in deriving value in wanting to help others) carries over into your relationship by being self-sacrificial and providing husband. It took 23 years of marriage, a crappy 6-year divorce process for me to finally wake up and understand the true nature of interpersonal relationships. These women will not date down and the more education they have and the higher their income, which also includes a decade or more of delay in the marriage market place, they will have a very difficult time finding a high-status man, even if he is beta like I was.
