Some people are not ready to be unplugged. Stop trying to unplug them.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again:
I gave up trying to bring my friends into the RP school of thought over a year ago. I sat there at breakfast on a Saturday, listening to my friend bitch and moan about how his live-in girlfriend was making his life miserable. How they had both gained weight, how nothing he ever did was good enough, how they were always attached at the hip. I told him the truth: he needed to spend more time away from her, in the gym. He needed to get lean again, back in fighting shape, and start running some Dread Game. I explained how he couldn’t reason with her, but needed to use her emotional, volatile nature against her to retake control of the relationship.
Not only did he not do what I recommended, but he told her about our conversation. The next time I hung out with both of them, she cracked jokes about how I could relax because she “dreaded” plenty (specifically putting overemphasis on the word “dread”). After that, I shut up about anything TRP related, and went back to silent example. I had led the horse to the fountain of power, but he refused to drink; his conditioning was too strong. This was a smart, razor sharp guy that before taking a “real” job at a Fortune 500 company, worked as a night club manager and banged cocktail sluts like drums at his leisure. Some people are not willing to unplug. Period.

Not only did he not do what I recommended, but he told her about our conversation.
Have had similar experiences. Told someone some deep personal truths, and they went and reported it right to their significant other. Even the stuff about their significant other. Fucking lame, and bluepill as fuck.
They just can't maintain any secrets or tension in the relationship, it's all about spilling it all out and having no secrets and trusting her to be a responsible person. Enjoy the bluepill fairytale, see you post-divorce.
Edit: more thoughts... I do try. I don't talk direct TRP stuff, but gentle hints. See how far down the rabbit hole they wanna go. Help a bit. Never enough that it could backfire on me. Maybe indirectly accidentally post them a TRP link but don't recommend the place. Gentle leading and leading by example is the way forward.
But I do want better for my fellow man. Yes it's more competition, but I want things to be better for men. Thankyou to the TRP people before me, and I shall pay it forwards to those that follow.

Irony: OP is trying to save everyone from the trap of trying to save everyone. :p
OP, I agree with your conclusion but your argument isn't very persuasive. In fact, I think it frames the problem in an unhealthy way– "don't encourage your competition". It puts people in a suspicion-first perspective. This is narrow-minded and lacks growth-mindset. It's entirely possible to build other people up in a way that is mutually-beneficial. The trap to avoid is focusing on others at the expense of your own growth.
To examine your argument more closely: You're basically saying "more alphas = more competition = bad". There are a couple of sidenotes– "people don't change their worldviews through argument" (which is true) and "outing yourself gets you labelled as a misogynist" (which is actually just dependent on how you conduct yourself– learn plausible deniability).
I actually relate to folks who try to share their values with others, and I have a soft spot for them. I was one myself. It's a trait that I appreciate in people, and if I encounter a young man who's passionate about sharing his perspective, I often feel compelled to buy him a beer and indulge him, and give him some questions to ponder.
My main reason for trying to share my values with others, when I was younger and more idealistic, was to find like-minded individuals. The urge for deep kinship is great, and if there's a chance that discussing your worldview with 1,000 people means that you find 1 friend who just "gets it", I think it's worth it.
Seriously, while you're not wrong in saying that life is ultimately "every man for himself", it still ought to be spent it around people you enjoy, respect and admire. Part of that involves discussing your values. The challenge, again, is to only do it when appropriate.
I used to be very "others-focused", and I've since become a lot more self-focused. But I don't see it as a change. Rather, I've reconciled the two. Improving yourself is the best way to build high-quality friendships that are worth serving.
There are a few things to consider here:
I for one am very happy to do whatever I can to increase the quantity of quality men in the world. That's part of why I wrote this comment.
In general, the "don't encourage your competition" perspective implies a very "fixed" mindset– as if men were EITHER alpha OR not. But that's not the case. Personal growth is far more rich, complex, nuanced, voluminous, and it involves other people.
TL:DR: Put on your own oxygen mask before worrying about others. But once you're secure, help other people out whenever it's mutually beneficial. A rich, fulfilling life is correlated with meaningful relationships with others. Build them. Invest in them. They're worth it.

Great post.
I like to think of people with competition anxiety as having no abundance mentality (abundance of women and opportunities in life for self betterment/pursuit of happiness). That and competition is good also for weeding out complacency.

I don't think you need to worry. A lot of guys choose to go mgtow and/or stay in the anger phase than actually start plating. Not a big deal either way. Obesity and overweight adults are increasing so I don't think more guys are becoming alpha.
[–]Troll_Name 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm just exercising 3 hours a day 5 days a week and reading as much as I can. I'll probably start plating when I'm 35~40 at this point, MGTOW suits me just fine until then.
I think a lot of guys walk out and start preaching elsewhere because that's all they can really do at the moment with what they've read. No social outlets, 'friends' are all BP AF, and no other conversation topics to bring up with random strangers on the internet. This is a boat I'm having trouble jumping out of myself, and I have to imagine I'm not alone in that.
I don't preach much, but I link TRP to anyone who just woke up and realized they've been bullshat their whole life, and they want answers. Then when the usual shitspew of 3rd party responses flood in, I point out "this is how the feminist world will always treat you."
PS: if anyone wants to fling random advice at me, I'm actually looking for a list of audiobooks I should listen to. Got about a half a dozen (typical PUA stuff, just curious) titles lined up and always interested in hearing stuff I wouldn't have thought of on my own.

People act out of their belief sets - always. You cannot change other people's beliefs, only they can do that. Further, people generally only change their beliefs when the ones they currently have become too uncomfortable or painful to endure, and people will endure a lot of pain before they change. When people DO change their beliefs, they generally don't go looking for truth (too much work), rather they go with whatever is believed by someone close to them, evidence be damned. In short, people be crazy.

I agree with what your saying about shouldn't go around trying to show off how alpha they are, but if more men want to be "alpha" then fuck it bring on the challenge.
I dont do this shit because it makes me more valuable to women, I do it because I fucking love taking back control of my life.

Alpha will never be commonplace, even amongst TRP members. Alpha is a goal and most will never attain it, no matter how much they work out or fuck girls. And if every guy DID attain alpha status, it would be a big boon to humanity as a whole, because alphas are by definition the best leaders, followers and creators.
[–]3NO_LAH_WHERE_GOT 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
+1. It's never crowded along the extra mile.
If alpha becomes commonplace, suddenly being amazing is just average and you need to be even more amazing than that to be successful.
This is absolutely fine by me as long as I'm building meaningful relationships with those people and growing and learning alongside them. It's not a zero-sum game.
[–]1cmkinusn 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, that is one of the biggest things to get rid of for men. Men are not competition, it is perfectly fine if alpha men become commonplace, because we are cooperative by nature. Unless you develop one-itis and decide you need THAT girl, you can easily move on if a guy gets her first. There is plenty enough to go around, especially since more women are fit (13% body fat or lower, not literally fit) and attractive than there are men that are fit and attractive.
Earlier, I erroneously stated that 13% and below bodyfat puts you in the fit range (the range where your eye says they are a healthy weight)....looking at this example chart, I would venture as far to say that up to 30-35% is in the fit range actually. For men it looks to be around 20% body fat is the limit.

[–]Metalaggeddon 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The end game won't work in such a way. Remember, supply and demand.
You have some great points, but I'd rethink it maybe this way:
Alpha men increase, less appeasement of women in general.
To become hitched at all, women must increase their value, (become more desired, based on the demands of a higher percent of more demanding men)
Women increase their value and desirability by these alpha traits measurements.
The average woman becomes worth dating instead of plating, attractiveness overall increases in average, hypergamy is reigned in noticeably.
Now, alpha males, the top of the group, (20% ish) will always be even better than your average alpha trait positive male. The percentages will stay the same. However the value of the quality of relation as a median will increase.
So I'd say, if your goal is to be in the top 20%, you would be annoyed the bar has moved. If you have the goal of improving women on the whole, you'd be rather pleased.
Just my 2c.
[–]2comment 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't worry about competition all that much. I think less than 5-10% of subs here actually do anything, like in any other place. Many will actually hurt themselves in the manner you describe: acting like a professor when they just signed up for 101 class 5 days back. They stop learning before they even start. Many will drop off over time and revert back to beta when meeting a chick 2 notches above their previous best. The rest just make me work harder.
The landscape is always changing, gotta change with it. By the time many lessons have been written down, reality has released a new chapter changing things up. Adjust, adapt, exploit new niches. My biggest enemy is time and entropy. I would like to see less white knights though, in general.
[–]kitedancing2 points 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Many will drop off over time and revert back to beta when meeting a chick 2 notches above their previous best.
Exactly. I ran some RP-ish techniques on this girl and they worked like a charm. (I can't call myself RP yet, as you'll see later, but faking it for now.) Was surprised because she was significantly above my previous best, as you said. That, coupled with the fact that she seemed sane enough, made me lapse into trying to form a meaningful relationship with her (based on, you guessed it, my BP ways). The moment I stopped running the RP techniques on her, got ghosted. Message was loud and clear.
For guys like me just starting out on the RP road, it's very tempting to be thrown off by early success and regress to BP, as you observed. You think, "maybe this time is different" (since she is, after all different/higher than your previous best). Nope, A-fucking-WALT.

First rule of Fightclub is...
[–]uxl 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I am a moral person. Red Pill is amoral, which is fine; it is available to those of us who are moral along with those of us who are immoral. Putting aside the subjectivity of morality, I believe in the golden rule. And while I can't control another man's actions, I sure as hell can share my knowledge and experience when opportunities to do so arise.
I was a BP beta. My sex life was shit and my insecurities were numerous.
Had it not been for my introduction to RP I would still be a total loser. It is empowering to be a leader to the ignorant, and a virtue to expose ignorance wherever it exists. OP is dishing great shit for solipsistic, immoral assholes but being alpha does not mean being a solipsistic, immoral asshole.
Basically, there are moral alphas taking the amoral RP and there are immoral alphas taking the amoral RP. An immoral alpha would only think about himself and agree with OP. A moral alpha would think about his fellow man and want to prevent the further destruction of society and family life.

[–]bl33dingr3d 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You've actually met people in real life who use Red Pill terminology? I feel like that's astonishingly rare...
I agree though. Helping young dudes on AskTRP is one thing, because they've already found this place. Everybody else, especially real life acquaintances or friends...they can learn the hard way because it's the only way.
[–]RacialRealism 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Agreed and I will go one further, it's not worth saving them.
I showed my friend Red Pill, mainly cause I saw his potential. At first he gave me the typical "wow you are a douchebag try hard creeper" then once he saw women with their hands all over me he started listening. Well he listened, I gave him some reading materials, took him out a few times and lo and behold he broke his 2 year dry spell and picked up a few plates.
I'm no longer friends with this guy I helped. As is natural with the human ego, he accredits all his success to himself, and that it had nothing to do with me or even the Red Pill. He sucks up all value out of the friendship, Only asking for value, never giving any. Just like Red Pill teaches, he is being completely selfish with his interests and goals. Any notion of being "Bro's" or "mates" is gone, nothing is done for the sake of friendship, it's either "what value do I get out of helping you?".
I get it, it's good to be selfish. He's getting girls now and has started lifting, all that good stuff. That being said there is no good reason to be friends with this guy and I lost a good friend.

Depends on your life where you're at. Some see this as a guide to get laid. others see it as taking back their lives. and then you got me where I'm just tying to be happy.
[–]letigre212 points 10 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Couldn't agree more. Tried disagreeing with feminism a couple times with some friends and got nowhere, much less bringing up red pill theory. The best way to "save" these kind of people is do show them what's possible through your actions, and have them come to you to be "saved".
At this point, the only people I'm actively looking out for (besides myself) are my younger brothers (and not in the sense that I'm trying to save them). My goal is to make sure they're making the best possible decisions for themselves, and not catering to other people's desires like I have done.

[–]afroose 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The scarcity is real for men 20% will always get most of the women, male is the disposable sex.
You read but you don't understand, acting abundant is a good way to get laid, but every male on earth will never be abundant only a small percentage, the average male will live in scarcity.
[–]BOSpecial 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Agree with this. People will only take on new knowledge when they are ready. You can do very little about it. If you try to explain things to others who are not ready, you will look like a fool. It can only backfire.

Good things aren't meant for masses. Mediocrity belongs to the masses, it's only mathematically logical. The more popular something becomes, the more diluted also.
I've said that people should stop trying to expand TRP, but I've been met with negativity, because fundamentally people crave the validation of their beliefs...
A clear sign that someone hasn't really swallowed the pill is trying to convert.

While I find this view selfish, the red pill is amoral, and I am okay with the fact that it is selfish. SMV is a completely relative thing. If a 5'0 balding ginger is the most attractive male available to you, he becomes a ten in the market albeit not objectively. The more men with higher value, the less precious a high value man is.
Help people in other ways, perhaps just not in waking them up.
Information is important stop spreading with your stuff, YouTube video, fraternity and stuff, let the trash who has been cucked find TRP, they deserve it, they searched answer.
The people who spread are nice guy who feel fulfilled by helping others and usually they are beginner here.

TRP applies at the personal and societal level. I think it's important to proselytize to stem the tide, but I don't have that conversation unless someone is slightly predisposed this way, but probably just needed a little help connecting the dots.

I don't mind increased competition. I'm a competitive guy. I love to win, but I hate easy victories. The fear of competition is what lights the fire under my ass to keep evolving into a stronger, richer and more seasoned man. I want bigger dragons to slay. I'm not content shooting fish in a barrel - I want to gut monsters. I want the 1% compressed to the 0.1%, and then I want to eat the 0.1% alive.
I want every single one of you to exceed your maximum potential, and then I want to turn you to dust. It's 50% compassion, 50% belligerence. I care about my male friends and genuinely want to see them succeed because I'd be happy for them, but I'd be even happier if they were worthy rivals. I want to feel the pressure of knowing that millions of other guys are thinking they're superior and can wipe me out.
My dream world isn't a peaceful one - it's a coliseum.
Of course I'm not out there just laying down shit like "AWALT" and the 48 laws of power in casual convos, though. That would be dumb. I'm not going to go out of my way to convert anyone I know, but I really, really hope they find it on their own.

People need what I have. I was severely bullied in high school for being poor, small, and socially awkward. I became RP at a very young age. I then started lifting and learning about business ownership. A couple of months ago I came into a pretty good level of success. I'm no Warren Buffett but I can retire today if I want. I am absolutely ruthless to the masses. The same people that bullied me are now my little yes-man minions. It's pathetic and I hope none of them escape. In fact, I want another great depression so they suffer the same tyranny I did growing up. Get beaten down by life, I won't care. Fuck unplugging them. Let them go unconscious orbiting 6/10's and eating fast food. It's a good distraction for when shit hits the fan and they become homless, cold, scared, whatever. Fuck em. As for all of my RP brothers, godspeed. I truly hope you all make it to wherever it is that you want to go in life.

And if you have this need to preach something, go preach MGTOW...so you can get rid of your competition as they remove themselves from the marketplace. If the overall supply of men goes down, that's when women will have an incentive to improve.
I'm just scrawling grafitti by the urinal. Can't imagine it making anyone do anything.
Finally lost my virginity with something pretty this year. Back in MGTOW/monk mode because I'm shocked how fucking an 8 doggy style took longer to get me off than a Fleshlight. Been an interesting year, what it took to do that. As much as it pissed me off TRP helped make sense of the terrain. Might be easier next time, because pussy is off the pedestal. So far off, I don't even want to look at a bitch until next spring.
How I frame this: We're working too hard. Fat and feminism set the bar for women low. They set the bar higher for us every year, and enough still make it over to scratch their depraved itch. Stuff like TRP and game that cracks their code is still jumping higher for sick, shit testing robots with nothing but a wet hole. Can only imagine what a burnout it would be to spin more than one at a time. This doesn't get better until the Netflix and corn syrup stop, or they run out of rides.

I think its natural to want to help your best bros ans share something that has the ability to materially change their life for the better.
The problem is that TRP is too shocking and it contradicts the indoctrinated worldview your friends likely have. If a man isnt ready, then he will see your advice as threatening. His ego will not allow him to hear a word you say.
Best to show him. Take control of your life and from time to time its ok to drop a crumb here and there. Plant seeds without jargon. One day your friend may be in a position ( thats pain) where you will have more fertile ground

All Alphas effect change in the minds of others... that's pretty much the definition.
To influence people is the act of being the dominant person in a social hierarchy.
The true question is:
"Would you lift someone above you in the hierarchy?"
That answer should be "no".
.
But in the real world you have enemies. There are those who are above you in the hierarchy so it's natural and normal to create allies who might expose the Blue Pill emotional indoctrination being practiced by the Dark Triad Oligarchs.
We destroy progressive myths because they are imposed upon us by indifferent globalist Oligarchs that don't give a fuck about us.
Look at Europe and the Replacement.
Would you just sit there and let the Oligarchs import millions?
