Around this time last year I was made aware of this subreddit and checked it out. Had a good laugh at all the supposedly butthurt guys complaining about women, closed the tab, and resumed my naive habits pursuing women. You all know the ones I mean. Meet woman, put her on a pedestal for no reason, attempt to be "genuine", get stone cold rejected with no fucks given, get depressed, repeat. A year on, I get it now. I finally understand MGTOW.

This place isn't about woman-hating like a lot think, it is an expression of men finding their voices again and breaking free from the shackles we had placed ourselves in for so long. It is about true self development and realising our potential without conditions or agendas. Women don't like it because they see their perceived value slipping further and further as this lifestyle gains momentum.

I saw my Dad struggle to get into relationships my entire childhood, and coming into adulthood myself I carried that for years. I was desperate for it. It seemed like getting a woman was the ultimate objective for a man. It isn't. The moment you break that mindset is the moment you become free. Here's to freedom and progress!
