It's been a few years since I practiced medicine and, even still being fully licensed and having left my post in good esteem with research degrees and completed training, I find myself unequipped to offer wholesale advice on how to safely engage with hormone therapies, given the complications that are prone to arise, especially in terms of possible thrombosis and ischemic stroke, managing those risks, and monitoring oestrogen and lipid levels while self-treating. There are a whole host of issues.

The want to be a source of knowledge for men is commendable but the recent purview of Illimitable Men into recommending medical treatments in wakefulness-agents like Modafinil and TRT is somewhat questionable. My instinct was to withdraw paying subscription from the blog after that happened.

For those of you with low levels just on the edge of low-normal (~350ng) and your doctor won't prescribe you TRT, you can tank your levels easily with an anti-androgen drug called cyproterone acetate for 3-4 days before your bloodwork.

Don't bother with the "stay up all night and drink while doing excessive cardio". Just buy 2 pills from a MTF trannie on estrogen. They'll usually know what it is or at least could refer you to a back alley HRT dealer. Or you could order it from the internet. It's not FDA approved in the US, so you'll have to import it if you choose to go that route.

Worked for me, I went from 321ng to 160ng (felt like absolute dogshit) in 3 days from taking 10mg cyproterone acetate daily. It's just a temporary hit to your testosterone levels and they'll spring back up again in a week.

My copay is $6 every month. Worth it.

Oh, and another good tip is to go to your local mom & pop pharmacy and ask for a list of hormone prescribers in your area. I found a "wellness" clinic that takes insurance and went there. Better than an Endo or urologist and certainly better that a family GP.

23 years old, about to turn 24. 519 ng/dl. Always had low libido, trouble with focus and discipline, sleep. Suppose I can't see improvement naturally, I've read that TRT before 25 isn't advisable because your brain is still developing, is this true?

Great idea man. I have some questions for you.

We all know increased T will bring a lot of benefits. But are these benefits better than the drawbacks(like becoming dependant of the treatment or be left without any T and a limp dick)?

Does the benefits go beyond crazy libido and huge gains? The aggressiveness can be viewed as a benefit or drawback depending on the individual.

If i am functioning properly, is it worth to jump in just to optimize/accelerate my gains?

How much T should you aim if you start?

When i went to a endocrinologist he included several other exams to properly evaluate if my T was fine or not. Does these other common indicators mean something of our concern?

I did my research some time ago and concluded I might jump in later in my life (3-10y), after I get past my peak (25y atm), and get closer to my natural growth limit on the gym.

i've been curious on the subject myself and if it would be a good idea to try in my latter years so i don't become some decrepid old man. i know some of the older movie stars had taken growth hormone and things like that and sly's been filming like in his 60s looking damn good for a grandpa. if technology is there for our benefit i figure why not use it.

K since i am on trt and in general steroids i ll say couple of things.

1 ) forget it in young age , there other ways to increase your testosterone naturally or with hgc , unless you have a severe case which is very rare. Most of the times is diet , eating too many estrogenic foods , been fat and lazy , not exercising and such .

2) by trt we mean slow ester testosterones like enanthate best been the Testosterone undecanoate. Nebido is one of the best one injection every few weeks and your set.

We also mean low doses of testosterone , since an average male produces around 70mg a week , 150 mg a week is sufficient. Again this isnt for bodybuilding purposes.

3) Monitoring your estradiol is to be expected , if high the use of aromatase inhibitors is in need.

trt isnt only about the body. Low testosterone is associated with obesity , diabetes , alzheimer's , depression , low libido low energy , avertion of risk taking and many more.

What clarity do we have on the long term effects of TRT?

How much of a difference can TRT make?

I did Andro for a little while when it was legal (Supposedly the same stuff Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa were using). That was some good stuff. How will TRT compare with that experience?

TRT increases cancer risk. By how much at, say 5, 10 and 15 years?
Once you start, you can't stop, because your balls get lazy due to external supply of testosterone. True / false?

Not too long ago I thought I might need this, although lucked out, and now levels are high naturally. Few questions

Does TRT not shut down the HPT Axis - or at least significantly lower LH and FSH. And therefore cause you to become dependant on it?
I've heard most methods, with the exception of injection, can have disappointing // low results. Which method is most effective, in terms of both health, and raising levels?
Fertility - As I understand, goes or is lowered, and may require hCG to maintain.
If you have to stop - you will potentially go through a period of having little to no testosterone as your body slowly adjusts to producing T its own again - and this may be ineffective depending on age//health of the person, and length of TRT. Is this accurate?

I'm 20 years old and while I've had no problems weightlifting, some days I'm unable to get hard and other days I can stay hard for 3 rounds.

As of recently this hasn't been an issue, but I'm not sure if this is a sign I should get my T Levels checked.

Amateur questions. 1) How do you maximalise your T levels naturally? 2) What range should your T & free T be in to consider TRT over natural enhancement? 3) How often do you have to inject (is there another way to get it in your body)? 4) Is there a definite amount of years (or decades) I will die in if I go on TRT? Example: I go on TRT at 40. Will it prevent me from living to 80 (considering I would die of natural causes, no accident or fatal illness)? 5) Have you personally encountered any side-effects? So this might sound bad but I am 19 and on testosterone undecanoate, I grew up obese so that probably was the reason I ended up at 250-300 total testosterone and close to 0 free testosterone. I lost 100 pounds in the course of 3-4 months at 16 when I discovered TRP and some other forums.

The doctors know nothing about the protocols and anything related to testosterone replacement but after 3 female doctors that thought my levels were perfectly fine and vitamin E was the reason I was low testosterone I finally managed to get myself on TRT. I did all the required lab works, tried everything before jumping on TRT I could naturally but it still didn't go up. Well now it's almost a year of TRT and everything is better but I still get a bit of a roller coaster effect in the last weeks before a shot due to nebido's nature.

I am finally building muscle in the gym and don't even need to get a nap at 2pm to function further. My problem is that the only doctor who decided I do need TRT thinks its temporary and plans to end it soon. This is obviously bad for me because I will be shut down and no, he isn't planning in doing restart because he never even heard of estrogen management or pct (he wants me to get total T and free T lab works after 2 weeks of my last shot to "prove" that I am fixed).

What am I supposed to do? Try other doctors or just use the money I have saved to continue maintenance dosage by myself? I am from Eastern Europe so the doctors are even worse regarding TRT, I know more than they do with what I've researched on the internet and books relating to TRT.

According to some charts I find online, my number is that of a 75-84 year old man, but somehow that still falls in the range of "normal". WTF?

I.M. Can you discuss how TRT affects your energy and focus personally? Is it a steady stream of energy or perhaps a Ritalinesque manic drive??? I've read/heard people saying they have energy all day every day. Also people saying they can focus and work for hours and not get distracted. Like 16 hours straight type work.

How much sleep do you need on trt? Obviously sleep is absolutely critical, however I've heard some say the energy they have and the better sleep they get means they don't need to sleep as much as they used to.
