The notch count has been the main criterion for sexual success for many men. The rationale is evolution: males want to spread their seeds as widely as possible, so having sex with lots of women must be the ultimate sexual goal, right?

That’s just the half of the game. Based on evolution, the ultimate sexual goal for men is to maximize the number of successful offsprings. This is the only way to maximize your presence in the human gene pool. Having sex with a lot of women surely helps, but it is not sufficient for this ultimate goal, from an evolutionary point of view.

The problem with banging hoes is that your probability of producing a quality offspring with them is very low. By definition, these women have many other sex partners. Moreover, they don’t tend to be qualified mothers to raise the offsprings with good character and conduct.

Let’s do some math. Suppose person A has one committed, family-oriented partner, so A’s probability of producing children is close to 1 as long as the couple is healthy. Now let person B have 5 sexual partners who are hoes, and the chance of having children with each of them is 0.1. B’s chance of having children with any of his partners is 0.1*5=0.5. Even though B has 5 times the notch count as A, B’s chance of leaving his mark in the human gene pool is only half as much.

This is NOT to promote monogamy or marriage, but to emphasize the importance of quality over quantity. The most ideal case is for a man to partner with large quantities of women who are willing to bear and raise many children for him. This way, the man’s biological imperative in evolution is truly maximized.

Moral of the story? Don’t just be content with having easy lays with hoes, but to develop your game as tightly as possible so that all of your women are eager to help you carry on your genes. Marriage is not necessarily the only way to do this, since you can still achieve it with good game and enough resources.

I know many people here are hesitant about having children at all, and I might not be able to persuade you otherwise in just one post. So I will just drop my two cents of reasoning: we have learned so much about game and self development all these years, wouldn’t it be nice if we can pass it on to the next generation one day?

TSDL: Shift to depth over width. Live a good life, find some qualified partners, and achieve our evolutionary imperative to the maximum. Then we just pass it on, knowing that our own journey will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
