Willing to bet she's not actually a six based purely on physical attributes and the guy was testing her to see if the "one of the guys who just wants to be equal" thing was an act (and this is exactly how you miserably fail said test), but shows how important she thinks her appearance is.

Well men rate women, one dimensionally. That's the thing they don't understand. If a girl is a 10, she's going to be 10 even if she's psychotic because her being psychotic will not change her physical attributes. Likewise, if a girl is a 6, she will always be a 6 regardless of her mental or moral prowess. However, most men don't discriminate very rigidly based on such ratings.

Women on the other hand, have a several tiered multi-dimensional rating system which is partly the result of biology but mostly a creation of the media (which in her mind sets the standards for status). Her ranking is a weighted composite based on several factors:

WEIGHT FACTOR 15% Facial Features 15% Height 10% Outward Display of Physical Strength (muscles) 20% Wealth 20% Status (weather gained by virtue of a prestigious job or a local phenomenon i.e. hometown hero or DJ effect) 5% Potential as a father (can she extract enough resources from him and is he willing to part with those resources to father children with her) 10-100% Celebrity (this is often the trickiest because it's a kink and a fetish that is almost exclusive to each individual woman. It's also a combination of the other factors above so it's the most fluid)

It is this bizarre blended rate system which in some women's mind has many more factors, that drives women to select a mate. AND THEY WILL NEVER BETRAY THEIR RANKING SYSTEM. Regardless of how "nice" you are, you will never get the goods until you fall above the highwater mark on her system.

That said, the reason why girls get angry when they learn about how low guys actually rank them (especially friends who see them without makeup), is because she want you put them on a pedestal for having graced your time with a vagina. Because she has already decided that you are below her on the totem pole because she friendzoned you since you didn't hit high enough on her scale. By you putting her at a 6 (which is right around failing grade) you break down her reality and placed her lower than she placed you.
