I see a lot of women blaming men for viewing them through the "Male gaze", and therefore influencing their behavior in order to please us men. Men are responsible for objectifying them when all we comment on is their beauty, and when we don't- when we notice their preferences and likes- for giving them extra attention since they're "not like the other girls". All of this serves as fuel for their insecurities, which they then have to quench by behaving the way men would like them to. Thus men control women's behavior.

But what about the guy side of things?

The idea that a guy has to be an “alpha male” in order to attract the ladies, while beta males get used leftovers, is heavily centered about having to behave and look a particular way in order to be showered with female attention in return. What sustains it all is an idea of what women would like in a man- but to blame all women for having certain preferences that make it so that “alpha males” are more successful with them, would be ridiculous.
So, I don’t see why women get away with pinning their problem on men- the problem seems to lie with the person who is attempting to change themselves to get a certain result from people instead of just being themselves.
And back on track- It seems to me that while women all clamor against men and how they are responsible for shaping the view of how women ought to be, because men voice their preferences and act upon them- men instead willingly take it upon themselves to change for the sake of women's affection- and struggle hard to shape themselves into exactly what would be attractive to women, and see zero fault with society's pressure on them to do that. This leads me to conclude that men are far more women-pleasing than women are men-pleasing, at least in this day and age. Thoughts?
