I am a [22f] expat who moved to Canada to be with my now-husband. I began university here in Canada and almost none of my previous Chemical Engineering credits were accepted, leaving me to start over again the full 4 years, I have 3 years left now.

I'm struggling to find meaning in my schooling knowing it is cutting so far into the period we had planned to have children. I would like to drop out and begin having a family next year. My husband is concerned that I am not thinking things through and that I will regret my decision. He is also concerned that I will never go back to university.

Another issue is my aspirations in life have changed. I chose a chemical engineering when I was a feminist and 'didn't need no man.' I don't think I could stomach working in chemEng as a career now. So in my mind, even if I stayed on and got a degree, started having children immediately, and then chose to go back to work when the children had grown up, I would not work in that career.

I am trying to respectfully show my DH my heart on this. I am being called to motherhood, and I don't want to let down my husband in the process. Please advise!

As a P.S. my husband is in criminal defense. He can afford to support me and 4 extremely expensive children completely, today.
