I was exhausted and sleep-deprived all week from taking care of our twins, an influx of freelance work, and going to the gym at 5 AM in the morning to get my workout in before the twins woke up. This morning, I woke up at 10 (which is really late for me) and panicked because I expected to be awoken hours ago by the alarm or the babies over the monitor. When I came downstairs, I discovered my husband had done the entire morning routine for me so that I could sleep in.

I asked him to pick up something from the store last night that we really didn’t need while he was out. I didn’t know he had already come home from work so he went back out.

My husband and I live in a somewhat unconventional dwelling, and our only heat source is a wood stove. Not only did my husband cut down all the trees and split all the wood, but he wakes up EVERY 3/4 hours EVERY night to stoke the fire, and has not complained once in the two winters we've been here, and won't let me take a turn. And he's super handsome!

Mine's been picking up more slack the more this pregnancy progresses. Yesterday I fell asleep (napping) on the couch while he was sealing the bedroom windows for winter. When he finished he gently woke me up, got my phone and water and moved me to the bedroom (where I had wanted to be). When I woke up a few hours later he told me he was running out for some errands and would be picking up food for dinner so I didn't have to worry about it.

He's always been good but he's really stepped up the care lately. I read all the complaining wives and girlfriends on /r/BabyBumps and I just can't imagine doing this with anyone else.

I bought a dress for Christmas parties and despite taking measurements and smugly ordering a small with certainty, I could NOT get the thing over my hips. It's supposed to be tight, but not smudge my nail polish pulling it up tight. I gave up. Was sad. Re did my sad ruined nails in defeat.

Am on my laptop next to him in his office this morning and he sees I'm looking up a return policy. I explain I have to return a dress because they don't have the next size for an exchange. He's like "I bet I could pull it up." After making butter my sides up jokes I let him try, it went right up. Fits perfectly, even has stretch it's just the bodice band part is stubborn. He's a Christmas party season hero!

My husband moved our live Christmas tree THREE times. It's our first year in our own home and after we set it up and decorated it in the dining room, I felt like we didn't even have a tree, because it was so removed from the living space. I took off all the ornaments and he relocated it to the living room, but after we got it set up, we realized it blocked the TV. One final move to the other side of the TV and we were able to redecorate it. He's a saint.

Can this be a monthly thing too?

My husband drove my dear sweet aunty that the kids and I love, who annoys him a bit (he has extremely low tolerance for dominance in women), for 2 hours to bring her here. And then back the next day. She can't drive that far anymore, she has health issue.

He also took the baby along in a stroller or his arms while he was trying to relax, exercise and work from home at least once weekly so I could take a bath - all the while dealing with our intense 5 year old, while getting up before anyone else and being last to sleep.

He did all the paperwork, insurances, new doctor, finances, everything, for our emigration. All I had to do was sign some papers and show my face once at city hall.

And he's hot :-)

I'm starting graduate school next spring and I really wanted a new (small/basic) laptop so I could take notes and carry it around easily. My current one is massive and not something I want to carry everywhere. I also wanted a laptop that was a touch screen so when taking notes I could draw diagrams and have everything in one place. Well, my husband gave me a lot of pushback saying I didn't need a touchscreen laptop, but then he surprised me after a really rough exam week with one! He's always spoiling me :)

He is taking me to Disney world next week. He has never been and isn't huge on theme parks but knows it is my favorite place, so he let me book our honeymoon there! He even said he would ride a rollercoaster with me to challenge himself to be more open to new experiences.

Between the wedding being next week and a ton of new changes hitting us at once these past few months, we have both been more irritable and terse with each other. However, even with everything going on he has remained cognizant to spend time with me everyday.

He also told me last night that if I ever feel overwhelmed with cooking every night or taking care of the house to let him know that I need help. He did dishes and laundry this weekend without me asking. He told me that he is an adult, not a child, and needs to pitch in too sometimes. I tend to feel it should be my job to handle all of it all of the time because that is what the women in my family modeled for me and he is the breadwinner, but I respect that he still has that drive for self sufficiency even when I am handling most of that stuff.

Oh! And yesterday he bought us a membership to a really nice gym with a ton of amenities. He has been inspired by seeing how much weight I've lost and wants to get on my level. He booked a tour of the place during his lunch break yesterday, told me to meet him there for it, and signed us both up. I am so excited, both that he is coming around to doing this but also that I get access to this place too. It's the coolest gym I have ever been in...we both meet with personal trainers this week (separately) and I am grateful to have a whole new set of tools at my fingertips to reach my goal weight this year. And, I am excited to have a new thing for us to do together. We went to the gym after dinner last night and he said that he would like me to meet him there after work several days a week. 😊

It seems the norm for dads to not help or do any of the child rearing and it really throws these women for a loop.
