I see nothing wrong with this. Women look at a man for a multitude of values, some of these character traits weigh more than others. So when the guy was trying to get her number, acting nervous and coy, he wasn't giving her the impression that he wasn't very confident. So it's natural to just assume that type of guy isn't very successful (successful people tend to ooze confidence and ambition).

But once he got into the car, it signaled to her that, "Oh maybe he is not the stereotypical loser I made him out for. Maybe he was just being really nervous. Having a car like that usually means you're successful and have the character traits of a successful man since money = power, and powerful people aren't beta boys (usually)."

Besides, I can't fault women like this unless I know that they have said they are not like this. It's in the biological make-up to go after a suitor that is wealthy and can provide for a family. Not necessarily the same guy breeds with her, though.
