So, tonight I went on a dinner date with a guy I on a virtual speed date. We texted for about a couple weeks, and he asked me on a dinner date. During this time, he specifically said he did not have kids.

We met at the restaurant, and things were going well until he revealed that not only does he have teenagers, but he is still married (but separated) and living with his ex until he gets his life together. He asked me multiple times what I thought of this, and I said it was good that he was making a change in his life. I didn't want to cause a scene and point out his lie because 1) I want him to pay for the meal and 2) I know men sometimes become belligerent or even violent when called out on their lies.

He wanted to stay and talk longer, but I ended the date and deleted his phone number as soon as I was in my car. Last year, I dated a guy who was very obviously not a good man from the first date. I entertained him anyway because I didn't want to be alone, so it felt very good to just delete this guy's number and know that nothing would come of it because he doesn't meet my standards. It feels damn good.
