Hi so for some background I’m 28f and have very little “relationship” experience. I grew up in a south Asian household and wasn’t allowed to date at an young age. I also didn’t dorm during college (parents wouldn’t let me) which has truly been one of my greatest regrets bc college is your peak socializing years. After that is it very hard to find a friend group or dating.

So I’m still a virgin and never had a bf. I put a lot of pressure on myself but I think it is a “red flag” that I never had a bf which has led me to make bad decisions with men that I am still ashamed of. Since my parents had an arranged marriage, I was never taught about dating, standards etc. also in college and in high school I was never asked out by a boy my own age for a respectable date that he paid for. Even now I’ve never been on a respectable date with someone my own age... which makes me feel pathetic. I have tried online dating (50/50 dusty) and meeting thorough friends (cheap asshole who lured me to the back of the car at night for a BJ and then had the nerve to tell his friend that he wasn’t interested) so I have had very poor judgment with men bc of my lack of experience and also feeling lonely and like what is wrong with me....

So I guess my question is how I can I overcome this lack of dating experience, wisdom etc? Bc I often times think it is too late for me and I regret not casually dating at a young age but no one ever asked me and there were no dating apps back in the day.

I’ve read the handbook and tried to work on myself, standards etc but I never meet any good men. I’m sure you all will say to find friend and hobbies but it is hard when you are fighting depression. And yes I have tried meds and therapy.

Pardon this for being a bit ranty but I’d appreciate feedback if you are in a similar position.

Edit: yes I have tried meetup, classes, bumble bff to expand my social circle even before covid. But since covid we can’t really do much...
