This is what my exNVH said when I told him we’d be divorcing. “YoUrE jUSt gOInG tO trAsH EvERyThInG WEvE bUiLt?!” At that point we had bought a small house with money I had saved and a small inheritance I’d received. It needed work which he didn’t want to do or pay for, so it was up to me to take care of.
We had built nothing together. It was all me and my efforts. I made a deal to take reduced child support if I could keep the house and being terrified of the horror stories he’d heard re child support, he accepted without even doing the math.
