Remember that a lot of high SMV guys aren't interested in relationships, especially if you're young. So even if your SMV is similar to theirs, they may not approach if you're giving off a 'not into casual sex' vibe.

It could mean many things:

you aren't coming off as open, interested, and easy to approach
you aren't visually ticking off the things these men want
you aren't hanging out with the right people socially
it's also possible that they know you won't put out (this is good)

School in particular can be difficult because the 'hottest' guys may not want any kind of relationship. If they are only interested in sex, then it's for the best that you aren't on their radar.

It's really hard to say one way or another, especially without anything knowing about you specifically. Are you rating men based solely on their appearance? Or is it a combination of their looks, personality, and priorities?

Sometimes, I'm actually super nerdy but I guess I'm attractive, so I get a mix of guys. An example I have men staring at me or flirt with me that I would rank an 8 in appearance. I also believe other factors such as personality or how approachable you look. Personally I ignore guys thou because I'm taken, but I can tell a fair amount of SMV is based on how you act from my experience since I give a cold look when I'm at my classes. Therefore, I get less approachable when I don't act normal or behavior normal. I guess you can work up your SMV to get more approachable but if I do it I will draw too much attention. Personally I don't feel like I'm 8 because of how unsociable I am, so I feel like I don't match the "league," besides appearance 8 on the scale, my personality makes it harder so my league is different like social and looks. However most guys like that would prefer sex over a real relationship, which isn't great if you're up in the scale. So three factors social, attractiveness, and behavior are the factors that skews it.

Not enough information. Could be a multitude of things. If you're a HB6 of course you will be approached by more low level guys. If you are a HB8-9 it may be due to your fashion, posture, social group, etc. If you look "frumpy," you'll get "frumpy guys. You may already have a reputation for something negative, or at the very least a non-existent positive reputation, if that makes sense. I could go on and on. More details if you want a specific answer.

But just in case you aren't a troll (I'll leave that determination to the mods), I'll answer your actual question.

Men are attracted to any women who isn't a turnoff. Specific turnoffs will vary from man to man, but generally speaking, fat, ugly, dirty, smelly, bitch, whiny, nagging, loud etc are just some things that might make you less or unappealing to a man.

If there aren't any turnoffs, a man will find you attractive even though he may find someone else more attractive.

In other words - most men will find a large number of women to be very attractive sexually speaking. Therefore, who approaches you means absolutely nothing at all to you as a woman.

I will also add that men who approach are your level. If you are regularly approached by HB7 Men, then you most likely rate as a HB7 Female. These guys are likely closer to your level. Most HB8's are almost always regularly approached by High SMV Men. HB9's almost literally have their pick of High Vale Men.

The mistake (some to many) women make is they have little to zero interest in men at their level. Many overshoot with a major effort to secure men 3-4 points above their Sexual Market Value (SMV) or Relative Market Value (RMV) for commitment/long-term relationship/marriage.

Notable exception, occasionally a high SMV male will lower his standards for sex ONLY, but they ALMOST NEVER lower their standards for a relationship, and (most likely to definitely) NOT marriage. "Like attracts like." Barring that - you MUST BE AWESOME-SPECTACULAR in some other way(s).

If you have a tendency to overshoot, be prepared to work much harder to obtain a High SMV Male or secure commitment from a High SMV/RMV Male. You will run yourself ragged, be in direct competition with higher SMV/RMV Females, and will tire of "crawling through broken glass and doing cheetah flips" just to hold his interest.

Lastly - always work toward improving both your SMV (sexual attraction/appearance) and RMV (loyalty, honesty, character, intelligence, femininity, physical fitness, and reliability, responsibility, accountability, personality, and your homemaking/wife and mother skills).

It will pay dividends in affording great options in securing a High Vale Man’s attention and commitment.

I think a lot of people already explained it pretty well but I'd like to add in a quick example:

I was salsa dancing with my bf on Halloween and there was this girl (7) who was fairly attractive sitting alone right next to the dance floor. Although she was dressed to attract she looked so incredibly pissed off and gave the impression she had a huge ego. Girls far below her in looks but with big smiles were being asked to dance but she never was asked until she finally left.

I think how friendly a girl is plays a factor as well as whether or not she seems available.

One of the first times I went to a club I agreed to guys of lesser SMV to dance next/somewhat with me but with a space. My friends scolded me, they said "all these cute guys were looking at you but now it seems you're with a guy/taken and they moved on."

Allowing guys to surround you also lessons your chances. I read somewhere on RP that the average girl will want/allow Beta Orbiters but the High Level girl with not (or at least not in public). Since reading that I tended to be friendly with guys but not too friendly and would move away from them (unless I was interested) and spent more time talking to girls. A lot more higher SMV guys began to be interested in me for dating purposes. My current bf is pretty high SMV but he never thought he was! I see girls trying to flirt with him and he literally has no idea. I think if a high SMV guy went through an "ugly duckling stage" then he's more likely to be shy and not realize he's good looking.

I know another guy like this, he has a great job, is good looking, maybe at an 8 or 9, but his wife is a 6 at most. He is pretty nerdy and is only now breaking out of his shyness. She caught him pretty early.

So if the guy is a shy high SMV, you have to find reasons to talk so he feels comfortable, "what time is it?" "Can you help me open this?" "Do you know where so and so his?" etc. and keep that smile at 100%.

If he is an arrogant high SMV move on he usually just wants sex.

No. Some low value men have nothing to lose and go for very hot women. Some men only want a fling and it isn't about you. Some good decent guys are too polite to approach. A lot of men will take a friendly 7 who makes it clear she will respond over a 9 who is shy and challenging.

Men are not confident just naturally. Look at red pill stuff, so many men go there to try to learn confidence.

Possibilities when only 6s or less are hitting on you: 1) There are hotter girls present for the higher guys to hit on. 2) You aren't as hot as you think you are. 3) You are that hot, but something about your attitude or how you're put together turns men with options off. 4) The guys there are hot but aren't available/looking. 5) How you define a male 6 or less, and what is actually a 6, are two different things. 6) You can't see their interest and don't respond to them, only to the more blatant posturing of lower-value men.

Many different possibilities. I can keep coming up with what-ifs, but you only wrote three sentences.
