I consider myself to be quite independent and well established. I have finished my uni degree, have a good career, financially very stable with good savings/ investments, supportive friends and family, and have a number of interests which I partake in. I’m 27 and single but actively dating. Sometimes I feel as if I’m better placed as far as ‘having things together’ goes than many of the guys I date; or they’re in a similar position and maybe feel like I don’t need them? I’ve been thinking of ways to go about making myself seem a bit more vulnerable, because I believe there’s something desirable in that from the perspective of many men. For example, I went on a recent first date at an outdoor restaurant and the weather changed and got cold unexpectedly. I didn’t have a jacket but the guy was very concerned about me being cold and was quick to give me his jacket and drive me back to my car after so I didn’t have to walk through the rain. The date was going OK up until that point, but I think both of our levels of interest really increased from there onwards and I was able to get a second date. This scenario was entirely accidental however, I’d be interested in hearing other ideas and examples of how else otherwise relativity self sufficient women show their vulnerability and give their partners/ people they date opportunities to help out or fill the provider/ protector role. Thanks :)
