I am Lithuanian, but I currently live in Malta and the respect of marriage is SO different in both countries. In Lithuania I could walk naked around the city centre and any guy who would approach me to hit on me would back off the moment they saw a wedding ring. They would say "sorry to bother you" and would walk away as fast as they can, maybe even say "your husband is a lucky guy".

On the other hand in Malta, after I say I am married, the guy just gets EXCITED and would say things like "I am married too! What's the problem?" or "Marriage does not mean you have to stop having fun" or "I don't see any husband around you" or "If you were married you would never be allowed out on your own, don't lie to me".

I was wondering If i just had a really bad luck in Malta or if there is a geographical difference for this attitude towards marriage.
