I tried working in a male dominated trade. It was horrific. I have never felt so bad about myself in my life. They feel like they can ask you sexual questions and touch you when they want. Make comments about your body. My boss literally asked me why I don't do my hair. Like because I'm working a physical job and I didn't get the job so I could dress up and pander to the Male gaze. Also they constantly make you "prove" yourself by doing stupid and dangerous practices because they do it. I was so stressed I dropped 50 Ibs in a couple months. I'm so glad I quit. I'm still in therapy dealing with the shit I went through on the job and I haven't been able to work since. It's been over 5 years and I'm still traumatized.

I bet a large proportion of the men that make comments like this, don't even have a job, let alone ever worked on an oil rig or down a mine, they probably live in their mum's basement, rent free.

Edit Also when MRAs say women can't have equality and want a man to pay for dates, does that mean they also believe men who are kept by women shouldn't be entitled to equality as well then? There are after all men who have sugar mummies or women who support their husband if he loses his job, does that mean they shouldn't be entitled to the same rights as the women who pay for things for them?

I would happily go do those jobs. I DID go work on a saw crew. I had to fight to feel like i had the right to be there the entire time. They dont don’t actually want us there.

Out of sleeping in the snow, not showering for 10 days straight, walking for 14 hours straight with a saw and felling dangerous trees, being around so many men all the time was the hardest part.

As part of my work I had to recently do research on water access in remote parts of the world/a charity addressing it and can confirm what's written here. Women in those communities walk for hours under the heat and then carry back huge amounts of water for their family leading to spine deformities and even miscarriages.
