I can't tell you what to do, but you need to know that in most places it's a lot cheaper to divorce after five years than ten. The disparity in your income will probably will have to pay alimony a few years. Also the longer you are married the bigger claim she has to your retirement. If lack of love is the initiator of the divorce loss of assets should be the accelerator.

I don't think you're wondering. I think you've decided or at least have a really strong gut feeling, and are looking for affirmation. From what you've written, you could spend the next 20 years growing more bitter and resentful, perhaps have a couple rescue babies to really tie you down, or you could chalk it up to experience and move on. Talk to a few lawyers and get an idea for what she can claim, then make your move if you want. I'm not pro-divorce but I don't think you'll regret kicking this woman off of Easy Street.

File immediately. No kids. No assets. Five year marriage. This provides an excellent glidepath to an efficient divorce. Don‘t delay. The longer you are married, the greater chance you will have to pay spousal support, and longer marriage = larger support award.

If it is the question the concern, I would read 'Necessary Endings' By Henry Cloud. It really helped me with the decision, understanding the reason it was difficult to break up, and how to move forward.

I heard it in audible over the weekend, and I was filling the following week.

There will never, ever be a better time to divorce her. Every day that goes by your lives will become more and more entrenched and you may even convince yourselves that a kid will fix your issues. You're looking at a short period of spousal support and then you can move on with your life and never make this mistake again.
