I have filled out the forms and signed the verifications. The petition for divorce is being mailed out and I am really nervous even though we have been separated for over a year now but married for 12 years. She left me at the beginning of the pandemic after an ultimatum to choose her boyfriend or her husband. It had been going on for a while and I caught several months before but she continued seeing him.

She found a rental and filled the house with all new furniture. I continued to pay for her car, auto insurance, health insurance, and cell phone. After month of her living in her new place I signed up for cable and internet so that the kids (3) would have it when they went to visit her. Internet was a necessity for virtual schooling. I also give her $400 spending cash a month to make sure the kids can eat when they visit her. ( totaling about 1.2k / month )

I have been working from home since the pandemic started and now working remotely permanently. We rotate the kids every two days. I get to see them after school every day until she gets off work on her days M-F. During the pandemic they home schooled with me every day and during summer of '20 and summer of '21 so far they have been with me as well.

I think I am good position at this point but I am trying to document everything as well. I am afraid she will start pulling some crazy stuff once she receives the petition for divorce. She opposes getting a divorce and says courts will own our kids but I am afraid she is only delaying for reasons I am not aware of. I don't want to start slinging mud unless I have to and just trying to keep it fair. 50/50 custody. 50% of community property. Let's just move on with our lives...

I just need some reassurance and any advice that I can get. I have no idea what I am doing and just trying to listen to my lawyer.
