Is it just me or are the men's section in clothing stores always much smaller than the woman's?

That's just supply & demand. This isn't an equality issue, and it's key to ensure that every single part of life isn't broken down into being a gender issue.

Not only that.. but men have different body types as well but men's clothing in general is made on the assumption of just one overall body type..

I'm 6'4 and quite broad shouldered.. I don't really have many problems finding pants / shorts but finding shirts that fit well can be a fucking nightmare sometimes..
especially button up shirts..

It’s like saying that it’s sexist that there are more men’s football teams than women’s. Despite how intensity / importance of the two are different, and in turn the market essentially moulds their presentation of the sector to better fit this demographically difference. It’s better business. Idk, blame capitalism or something

Men’s fashion just isn’t as widely developed or viewed so importantly as woman’s, there’s simply less interest on making an effort and keeping up with fashion for guys, the beauty standards in a general sense aren’t as toxic or pushy

Why would more established companies choose to lose money when they don’t need to, it’s just not a good business decision, equality for the sake of equality rather than for a genuine good reason

At the very least you still have alternative options exist online, so it’s not as if its even really a big issue in the first place

Supply and demand. Women spend the most money on clothes shops. As someone who likes clothes I wish there was more men’s shops but I can get everything online. I don’t particularly have an issue with this.

Interesting but kind of a dumb post. If there was demand for a larger men's clothing section, then companies would obviously do it. Companies don't want to waste money on high quality men's clothes when the majority of men won't even buy them. Same goes for women's pockets. Women's pockets are very small because a lot of women just use bags or purses, so companies won't waste money selling two different pocket sizes.

i feel like there’s just less variety in what men wear. shirts and pants sum it up. women’s section has dresses, skirts, and more variety in tops and bottoms.

Dude this is very simple. Demand meets supply. Women clothing is a much bigger industry, therefore bigger section in the store.

I'm happy with this. I have a small simple wardrobe, I have simple tastes in fashion. I don't like to dress in a manner that draws attention to myself.

Go to a men's store and don't water down the actual issues men have. Women can have more clothes space at Walmart if men can have more homeless and abuse shelters because about 75% of homeless people are men but men have far fewer resourses

Not only that, bet the mens section is also...

usuually located in the basement, or the too floor. which ever is is furthest from the front door
the space is shared with children's clothing, and / or home items
despite having all the other floors, women still use the mens changing rooms.

That last one really irks me. Men cant use womens changing rooms because that would be "dangerous to women". but they can use our changing rooms, while we have to queue.

Further more, women regularly try on mens clothes and no one bats an eyelid. But when i searched the womens department for eye mask (sleeping masks) i was told they were "not for men" and followed by security.

Men are given less choice, are pressured to have suits for all occasions, and still spend less than women on clothing. Women who dress feminine are treated differently. It is almost like a cheat code. I wear dirndls almost exclusively. I can go anywhere and receive better service just for dressing in a way that makes me comfortable. The only similar garment for men I can think of would be a kilt. It really isn’t the same. Men get those creepy women that think lifting a man’s kilt is O.K., when it is clearly sexual harassment at a minimum.

If you go to any large mall with a directory that lists stores for men’s clothing and stores for women’s clothing the latter will always be longer. Women have more options but that’s not necessarily not fair. That’s part of why women’s clothing is more expensive. Another part is they are more likely to be buying their clothes with somebody else’s money so they’re willing to pay more even for more cheaply made clothes.

I don't know if this is a huge issue though. I tend to think men wear less variety of clothing. Maybe that's why?

As far as fit goes certain females have a hard time finding clothing.

I agree. I think that traditionally males have been less into fashion than their female counterparts but times are changing. Looking good is as much for women as it is for men.

Same when I went to the shop for a wallet I could only find pink girly ones for 5 year old girls. no wallet for men’s

There isn't really a problem here as you stated yourself. Women shop more than men do, they also buy more clothes.

Where as most men I know are fine with Jeans/shorts and a T-shirt with a jacket/sweatshirt when it is colder.

Where as most women I've realized like to have a different outfit whether it's a Romper, Sun dress, slacks/jeans/shorts and a shirt/cutoff/tank top with different shoes for every day of the week

This also explains why there are multiple different brands of just women's clothing stores compared to maybe one major store that is for men

Depends where you’re shopping but I think I was 30 before I ever got a pair of jeans to fit me straight from the rack. I basically just have short legs.

There isn’t much consistency in sizes across brands and different retailers though whether it be footwear or any other item.
