And we wonder why so many young men refuse to go to college.

[–]vwatchrepair 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yet at the same time claim there aren't enough women in college especially women of color. When in reality men of all races are dropping.

[–]Vaultdweller1001V 65 points66 points67 points 5 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Hooray! With this and the draft, I’m doubting that I will ever go to college!

[–]crux556 33 points34 points35 points 5 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

In a few decades it'll be men stuck in the blue collar fields completely, and women ruling white collar, wooo...

[–]Werwet10 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Musk doesn't care about college degrees for hiring. Many will follow.. All men can come together and teach and learn various skills which no college can ever do...and that too for free. Ask anyone going to college... especially in the USA, I heard that all they are given with respect to coursework are PPTs..and they pay a lot of money for tution. Let women go to college and be in debt while men can come together and work hard and prove to the companies that we can actually bring them profit by showing our quality of service.

[–]MikeHawk1931 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

He's a capitalist shithead, his type don't care about no one. Tesla gave workers permission to stay home, because of covid-19, then it sent them termination notices. You could find hundreds of articles about his nice treatment of workers.

[–]Werwet10 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Never heard of that before.. But atleast when one person makes such a statement...others are bound to follow right? It is an open truth that colleges are technically useless and that we need another way.. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise if people hire purely based on ability to do a job...cus women would just be wasting their time in college and get really stressed out and be in debt at the end of it. In India, there is a software company called Zoho, founded in India by an Indian owner and based in India(a rarity indeed) and the founder recently got a prestigious civilian award. His company hires based on skill and doesn't look at your whether you did your masters, or what your major is and all... If we are able to show our skill...they would hire...and if we prove ourselves, we get to stay there.. It is just the start...I'm just asking you to imagine if it becomes more mainstream and we find a way to differentiate and categorise people based on skill in different ways without paying loads of money for college for technically nothing.

[–]MikeHawk1931 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That's right, good grades/degree/good college ≠ skill. By "workers" I guess you mean the likes of engineers, so that means Elon Musk hires a skilled greasy mechanic who worked in a garage for many decades than someone who graduated fresh out of college with an automotive engineering degree, yep, that's a good thing, most companies like Google and Apple do that, they hire based on skill, with or without degree.

[–]Werwet10 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yep. Maybe in USA they do that...but then why do students still opt for college like it's a compulsory thing? And...the same companies, apple and google, hire primarily based on colleges in India. Infact, you can't even apply for a majority of companies if you don't have a degree making it compulsory for students to go to colleges. If you ask me...with a large population, colleges act as a filtrating mechanism...a very costly one. So till we all find another way...we will have to pay a lump sum so that shit-headed professors can do research!

[–]MikeHawk1931 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's all about what is best for the companies. At the end of the day, Apple doesn't give two shits about you and me. in the US this system works for them. In India, maybe things are different. Some companies like Apple and Amazon are especially evil.

Here in Kurdistan province in northern Iraq, a French cement company named "Lafarge" hires college graduates who bribe or support the corrupt leading political party. And they allegedly support the Islamic terrorist organisation ISIS. LafargeHolcim is a global leader in building material production.

Feminists want men out of college and do only low paying physical labour jobs.

[–]ProphetOfChastity 107 points108 points109 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

True. And then when they can't find a man who somehow makes more money than them for a husband they will whine about where all the good men went. Feminists want to have their cake (which men have to pay for) and eat it too (and then blame the man for them getting fat).

This is literally againt the law tho? Is this not a constitutional right to be given due process?

[–]fuckoffyoudipshit 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

By the government not private Institutions

[–]excess_inquisitivity 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not by the press. There's no constitutional right to the truth.

[–]Alejandro4222017 55 points56 points57 points 5 years ago* (19 children) | Copy Link

I’m honestly kinda scared because biden doesn’t even know what he’s signing but still signs the executive orders, and now this

Edit: also i’m hoping by the time i can go to college this law isn’t still here because if it is i’m probably not going

[+]FastFourierTerraform40 points 5 years ago [recovered] (18 children) | Copy Link

Biden doesn't even know what year it is, let alone what he's signing. But the alternative is even worse: Kamala Harris. Biden may be an ignorant participant, but Kamala is an active evil

[–]bakedpotato486 8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What's scary is the bunch of people who voted for Biden simply because he isn't Trump. Sure, Trump's an ass, but with Hunter Biden in the pockets of Russia and China and Kamala Harris in the pockets of private prisons... this shit's frightening.

[–]Veelsee 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bruh I get Biden is an idiot and Kamala sucks too but chill with the conspiracies lol

[–]Alejandro4222017 20 points21 points22 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, exactly biden is just the puppet

[–]AlThePikle 12 points13 points14 points 5 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

[–]PacoBedejo 13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Susceptibility to media manipulation, probably.

[–]DeepMidWicket 23 points24 points25 points 5 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Ikr, as an Australian looking in im baffled. This bloke clearly has lost the plot and his second is actually kind evil, on paper at least.

And ever since Trump got in all I've been hearing is how he is comparable to hitler him self, but I haven't seen anything on the news over hear clearly stating what evil it is he actually did. I saw him handle north Korea peacefully, I saw him pull American troops out, I saw many times how minority unimplemented was at an all time low. He did build the wall, and I understand the human rights side of that, if your on the wrong side of that wall you would really need to be on the other. But its your governments duty to make your side of the wall better, and I'd guess the people that live in the US near the border would be pretty fed up of dealing with the problems that come with having lots of illegal immigrants coming into town all the time.

He also handled corona like a goon bag left in the sun, so thats understandable, I don't think that counts as evil tho just stupid. Oh and the blm stuff, he could have done that better, but I've seen it implied that the cop did what he did because trump, I mean.. no matter how you spin it, its not Trumps fault that cop killed that guy.

So to any Americans, was he actually evil? Did America need a new president no matter who as long as it wasn't trump? Because as an outsider looking in I could never see what all the fuss was about.

[–]AlThePikle 16 points17 points18 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You know many BLM protesters are racist, right?

[–]Bugatti_Stacks 13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You made some very great points and keen observation. Thank you for that. If you're asking if he's evil, the bipartisan collective group have very biased answers for that. I didn't vote for Trump, I voted for Hillary Clinton, and during his first year, I started seeing his "tough love" approach in our society. His approach worked. I was swayed and I voted for him during the 2020 election. It help strengethed the workforce and I saw US become a country again that other countries can emulate in terms of an economical approach.

But he was brash. Too brash for the minority/selective groups. It's my opinion that the left or liberal party capitalized on this lack of tact and combined with his past, used it against him as insensitive and often the misleading "racist" rhetoric.

I have not seen him align himself as an extreme right wing or anything other than a tough negotiator with a business acumen, but the media can definitely twist the truth and convince their viewers not to question their product (I don't even want to call it news).

[–]DeepMidWicket 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Interesting to hear from someone who "jumped the fence"

I've always thought that if Twitter didn't exist Trump would have been regarded as a very successful President, but one that was a bit of a oaf when addressing the country. Twitter really was his undoing, he needed to only address the country like he would have had to in the 90's.

[+]vosoryx -9 points-8 points-7 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

" I have not seen him align himself as an extreme right wing "
He started an attempted coup on his own capital that killed 5.

[–]Dyspherein 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Where's the proof he "started" an attempt?

[–]vosoryx -5 points-4 points-3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He consistently made proveably false claims of widespread voter fraud and thanked the people raiding the capitol while it was happening. "We love you, go home."

[–]accidental_me 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Trump lied a lot and acted in erratic ways. He was a populist and and demagogue.

Surely he was depicted worse than what he really was, but he wasn't a reasonable guy by any standards.

[–]dungeonmonkey69 -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good job fellow American.

[–]Terraneaux -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because Trump was worse. His treatment of the Central Park Five was monstrous. OP's post is old news that is mostly a propaganda piece, with little relation to what Biden's actually going to be doing, but Trump very much wanted to put other men in prison for crimes he knew they didn't commit.

And women wonder why there are no longer good men who are financially solvent and or not make as much money, yet still want the benefits of chivalry. I see men still going to college but either online, night school, and or trade school.

[–]Tasteless_Venom 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is honestly disgusting. If this great country wants equality, why revoke laws and make reforms to push it further down this soul-sucking abyss of political rightness and funding for laziness? Seriously. Men are people too. Everyone are people. There is no hate in my heart for anyone but only hate towards me. Thank you. Peace be with you.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points19 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Okay maybe I was wrong about him not being as scary as Trump

[–]Draco877 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are wrong. Biden and the left are much scarier than the media portrays them. They reverse the truth.

[–]CaulFrank 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I chose not to vote for Hillary and not to vote for Biden, we really haven't had a lot of good choices for a while now. 😦

[–]Mario6416 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

What does that mean?

[–]MakhshavaBikortit 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

“Due process” is the idea that when someone is accused of something, they have the right to a trial, and the right to be “innocent until proven guilty”. Ending that would mean that a simple accusation would be enough to prove someone is guilty.

[–]Mario6416 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why the fuck does he want to do that?

This is right wing propaganda. Biden said he wants to look at the information so the right simply starts making shit up.

Essentially they are claiming biden is all for women claiming rape and men not being able to defend themselves.

This upsets the right but they are cool with actual guy that assaults women as being president. The intelligence of Trump fans is amazing

[–]logsdon36 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The universities are cannibalizing themselves. This will undoubtedly ruin tuition premiums for room and board. Plus, you can’t get falsely charged with sexual assault if you go to school online.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

He is going to end rights for everyone

[–]MGTOWayoflife 8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Let's hope so. Then Biden himself can go to prison for Tara Reade's sexual assault claim against him.

[–]AlThePikle 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I knew everyone would regret voting Sleepy Joe.

[–]dingoperson2 14 points15 points16 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

[–]Jugrnot8 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–]Jugrnot8 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I just did, can't you read dumb ass, you clearly where in a coma so let me school you, Trump was the previous president, he was impeached twice and known for his executive orders to skirt democracy as well as completely disregarding the constitution. Biden has been President for a few days. We can assume what he will do but we have facts what others have done. Don't live in fear for the future. You are going to put yourself into another coma. Biden has not done anything substantial yet for you to start their a hissy fit. Grow up bc you sound like a bitch.

[+]thetruemask -6 points-5 points-4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you kidding? Biden is? Trump made so many attacks on democracy I cant count, not to mention a literal coup and uprising at the capital.

Not to mention, against free media, told hundreds of thousands of lies in office.

Trump is a wannabe dictator if he had his way he would turn the US into North Korea. Why do you think he liked Kim Jong Un and Putin so much? He wanted to be a dictator like them

[–]vosoryx 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This is a misleading title and fear mongering.

Firstly, this article was published before the election, it's not what Biden is going to do.

He has stated that he will re-evaluate title IX protections. The world is a lot different now than it was when title nine was first introduced, and the trump administration's version of it was outdated and needs replacing, for example there is nothing in it regarding apps like tinder, nor online dating at all. He has stated that he will implement sexual awareness lessons in k-12 schools, which does reduce the occurrence of rape and sexual assault in general.

He has not stated that he will "end due process on campus for men" please fact check guys.

[–]bufedad 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Firstly, this article was published before the election, it's not what Biden is going to do.

Are you claiming he lied?

The world is a lot different now than it was when title nine was first introduced, and the trump administration's version of it was outdated and needs replacing

Trump reinstated (through proper legal channels) individual due process rights. I'm not sure how you think that's outdated. Trump replaced the Dear Colleague Letters (which Biden was the originator of) that ignored legal channels, and removed men's due process rights through college tribunals.

for example there is nothing in it regarding apps like tinder, nor online dating at all.

Do you think Title IX changes based on using a dating App?

He has stated that he will implement sexual awareness lessons in k-12 schools, which does reduce the occurrence of rape and sexual assault in general.

[–]vosoryx -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Are you claiming he lied?"

I am saying that biden re-evaluating title IX was taken out of context in the article linked.

" Do you think Title IX changes based on using a dating App? "
No, that was an example to show the fact that it was an outdated rule.

[–]bufedad 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am saying that biden re-evaluating title IX was taken out of context in the article linked.

Considering he promised to undo Trumps changes, no it wasn't taken out of context.

No, that was an example to show the fact that it was an outdated rule

If nothing changes based on dating apps, then it's not outdated based on your example.

[–]headpeon 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

OP linked a Federalist article titled “Joe Biden Promises He’ll Once Again End Due Process On Campus For Men”. Think about that title; think about the presumptions and assumptions inherent in the wording. That headline boldly attempts to sway the reader.

These are six of the top ten Google results regarding The Federalist’s media bias. If you’re going to swallow a story hook, line, and sinker, consider it from more than one source and more than one perspective first.

Here’s an excellent article on Biden and Title IX that considers the issue from both sides, if you’re interested: https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2021/01/22/biden-faces-title-ix-battle-complicated-politics-and-his-own-history

From a bipartisan perspective, those in the know don’t want to return to the Obama/Biden era of Title IX, which, incidentally, did not remove due process for men accused of sexual harassment or sexual violence. (For the moment, we’ll ignore the persecution complex and entitlement displayed by the assumption that Title IX accusations apply only to men.) Pre-Trump, Title IX did, however, remove some of the onus placed on survivors to deliberately re-traumatize themselves during the college or university’s – for want of a better word – judicial process. What Biden actually said about Title IX was that he intended to “return to and then build on” Obama’s Title IX policies, which indicates that Biden is aware that Obama’s version of Title IX wasn’t perfect, and that neither is Trump’s; a new path is needed. As Biden has surrounded himself with a robust, educated, experienced, and diverse cabinet, the likelihood is high that all students’ safety needs will be better met under Biden’s administration.

Which, incidentally, fucking did. The courts have ruled against the procedures required to meet the requirements laid out in the Dear Colleagues Letters time and time again.

Thank you for bringing fact checking and actual sources into this. Linking anything from the federalist is a pretty big red flag.

Ad-hom attack is ad-hom.

Somewhat fair. Though pointing out that the source of the data in OP's post is most probably skewed isn't an attack on OP.

i'm really stupid what does this mean?

[–]CaulFrank 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

On college campuses there's a separate "hearing" independent of the law courts. It's a trial to determine the guilt of a student and/or whether or not they will be expelled. Often a male student won't be allowed to make a case for themselves and if they are allowed to the burden of proof is on them rather than the accuser.

Because these "trials" occur separately from the legal ones, male students can still be expelled before the actual trial reaches a conclusion, and may even (and often) expel the student even if they're proven innocent.

From what I'm gathering, It means any man accused of anything on campus (ie rape) gets no fair treatment or any respect to his individual rights in court~ he's guilty until proven innocent, not innocent until proven guilty.

Brit here. Eli5 Due process?

[–]biggameprogramming 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hmm... what if you get your diploma online? Better yet, the university is in a different country entirely.

This won’t work for all careers, but it will be a nice gut punch to the ‘education’ system.

Can this sub reddit not be an extension of radical right wing propaganda?

[–]ShadyK55 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Ah yes, not wanting innocent people to be jailed and have their lives ruined...typical radical right wing

[–]DanMooreTheManWhore -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Literally no one wants or is even talking about that.

[–]ShadyK55 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thats literally the whole point of due process tho??? Are you braindead?

[–]DanMooreTheManWhore -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you? Literally no one has said they want to eliminate due process you absolute retard. This articles author has an agenda, she literally is a member of the opposing administration. How stupid are you that you take this at face value? If Trump's secretary of education told you Biden wanted to make cannibalization of toddlers legal would you believe them? Grow a spine.

[–]iccrew98 13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

How is it radical right wing propaganda to want due process, the foundation of US law and order? Would you prefer Roman mob rule, a la Gladiator, to determine someone's fate?

[–]vosoryx 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The Federalist is a far right, highly biased, unfair "news" outlet.

[+]DanMooreTheManWhore -8 points-7 points-6 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's not.

What's radical right wing propaganda is the fact that it doesnt seem like the President is actively working to remove due process. This is written by a member of the Trump administration, before the election, giving the person a reason to be dishonest. Even with good intentions, theres a good chance the writer of the article would misconstrue what someone across the aisle actually wants. The article provides no direct quote about the removal of due process, which is an extraordinary claim. People who dont require any type of proof for a claim like this are usually sheep.

You do realize he was behind the Dear Colleague Letters that were the source of removing due process rights for accused men in college in the first place... right?

Trump restored due process rights to men in college, and Biden has promised to undo that.

[–]DeepMidWicket 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So did Biden not say that?

Because if he said that, its just news.

If this is fabricated, then its propaganda.

[–]DanMooreTheManWhore -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I cannot find any direct quote advocating the removal of due process, and the article doesnt provide anything like it.

[–]vosoryx 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hate that "men have rights" has become adopted by the far right. Anyone who links the Federalist is a huge yikes. The downvotes on your comment show that apparently we're the minority here.
