Where does it come from?

Is it only ever there from the beginning, or can it be created after a relationship has already been started?

How much passion is in your marriage? Would you say passion is necessary for a happy life, or can one live without it, without resenting their partner?

I ask because I am feeling lost. I had a very passionate relationship, with a wonderful man. We never established a formal commitment. The "relationship" only lasted for a few months, although most of that time, we spent the entire day together. We worked together, we had a lot of sleepovers, we went out with the same friends. We had a bit of a falling out, and stopped seeing each other. And then I moved 750 miles away. I told him I was leaving, and he didn't bother to say goodbye. This happened at the end of September.

Since then, I have moved in with my parents (I am only 24 so not a huge deal), I get to see my son every week since we are in the same town, and I have met a fantastic, traditional, older (32) man. He has a great job, makes great money, already has an established life, has owned a house for years, etc. He is wonderful to me, and can give me a very happy life. He wants children, and we agree on the kind of life we want, we have talked about it all. We have been together for two months.

But I can't stop thinking of the passion I have with the man I left behind. I don't have that with my boyfriend now, although everything else is great, and we are definitely attracted to each other. My boyfriend can very easily give me everything I want out of life. The man I left doesn't want anymore kids, doesn't want to get married, and is a waiter right now, although he is close to graduating with his teaching degree. So I would have to go to college, get a degree, and work too. I don't want to do that, I want to stay at home with babies. I want babies and marriage more than I want him. But even still, I can't reconcile this and I need some guidance or answers.

Please tell me what I need to know to sort this out. I can't help but feel I am running out of time.
