All these people saying “the women’s team is doing better they deserve more” have no idea how the very basic fundamentals of a market work.
I’ll give them a quick lesson, put your big girl thinking caps on ladies.
Investment is all about risk. Given that the men’s World Cup generates viewership numbers of over half the worlds population, companies are will to invest much more money into something that has the possibility of that kind of exposure no matter how slim the odds are because it the men’s team does well, they will generate an unfathomable amount of exposure.
Okay I know that might be a little difficult to absorb, so take your time. Re-read the previous paragraph a few times just to let it sink in. Hopefully this clears up any ill-conceived notions of inequality.

I don't remember the specifics but I remember this issue being far more complicated than it appears. Just looking at this headline though, it's deceiving. It says the women were paid more while also costing the federation millions. But the men didn't qualify at all and the women are world champs. So of course the women were paid more. The men didn't play because they're so bad they weren't allowed in (how much money did the men's team make sitting at home?). Remember this is the "national" team. It's two separate entities, national and multiple domestic teams. It's the domestic side that is supposedly where the inequality problem is. As far as I know, the national team is only a thing every 4 years for the world cup. It should be noted that the Women's World Cup has only been held 8 times and the US women's team has won 4 of the 8, which is truly impressive.
Source: I've never seen a soccer game in my life but it was discussed ad nauseam on sports radio (Boston).

I agree but as far as I remember both the men's and women's domestic and national teams don't make any money. They both operate in the red.
As far as the national teams are concerned, which is specifically what this post is referencing, the men didn't play so yes the women made more.
Look I don't know enough about it to have an opinion on whether or not they're paid fairly. I'm just pointing out that this headline seems deliberately misleading to cast a shadow on a lawsuit and like most things the more you dig down the more grey it gets.

Also an inter continental competition every 4 years ( 2 continental, 4 world cup 6 continental etc. ) A company not qualifying for a multi hundred million dollar competition is still better than winning a million dollar competition. One arguement is the standard of play. Under 15 boys city team beat the Aussie women's (then 5th ranked women's team) 7-0. And the USA Women's team (the top ranked women's team for decades) lost to the under 15s Dallas boys team (understood the men's team is awful compared to the men's average, let along a group of 14/15 year old boy from a city). Now another point would be the women's tennis game. Less sets but more pay, now the world's greatest female tennis player (Williams) admitted that she wouldn't stand a chance against the top 100 male players. So two ends of the spectrum here. (Football) men's game has a better standard and earns more money and the players and clubs earn more than the women. Tennis, the women earn more money than the males, work less, have a worse standard and also earn less as a company. These are all facts. But certain facts are made louder than others.

Winning a world cup 4 out of 8 times, when the talent pool is utterly garbage isnt exactly skme impressive feat is it... it just means you're less garbage than the others...
Comparing the success or failings of the mens national team to the womens is apples and oranges to be honest... because theres only one world cup, and that's the mens world cup... the one that has been going 1930 and has substantially more teams that compete to qualify, as well as having 32 teams in the finals alone instead of 24 (also you should look at how few teams were actually in those early womens world cups)
When the winner of the womens world cup lose to a team of 15 year old boys... it tells you a LOT about the shit standard and how terrible they are are.
The womens teams earn a higher % of the total revenue than the male national players and yet they draw a significantly smaller audience... you know why? Because its fucking shit that's why.
What annoys me the most about it is how the media try to force people to support them, even going as far as saying "forget the mens team we've actually got a chance of winning"
It's such a ridiculous mindset... choosing a better chance of winning against lesser talent, in a leas rich poxy tournament... in that case why dont they make a fuckin tiddlywinks championship just the USA vs one other team and everyone should have to support them right? Because their odds of winning are greater.
History and heritage in sport matters, women will never draw the same audiences as men in the majority of sports because the simple fact is that they're just not as physical domineering as the equivalent Male athlete and never will be.

Don't worry man, I was also raised to have respect for a woman (not just for women though, just people in general) and had similar experiences in the past. Eventually I found someone who noticed and genuinely appreciated the way I treated her (and others) and we just clicked, we've been together for 10 years now and are very happy. Reason I'm saying this, you have to meet people to find the right one for you, but that means dealing with a lot of women that are not worth your time and effort. Recognize these women and move on as quickly as you can. This is important, 'cause some of those women will manipulate you and take advantage of that respect and will give you a miserable life. While you could find a person who shows you the same respect you show her and live very happy, like I eventually did.

And just because you show people respect doesn't mean you have to be a pushover. I know the saying, "respect is earned", but that goes both ways. How can you expect people to show you respect (and in that way earn your respect) when you don't respect them? If I show someone respect and they don't show me respect, that's the moment I loose my respect for them. Showing people respect when they don't respect you will indeed make you a pushover, but that's not who I am. It's true that pushovers will preach this "nice guy nonsense" but that does not make anyone who preaches this "nice guy nonsense" is a pushover.
My point is, the best way to know if someone truly deserves your respect is to just give them your respect and see how they handle it. If they show you respect in return you have a great base to build on for a good relationship (not just partner but I also mean friends, coworkers, etc. ). If they are the person who thinks only of themselves and/or are manipulative fucks, they will see you as a pushover and a prime target to take advantage of, if that's the case, you know very quickly that person is not worth your time and effort. It's only if you continue showing respect to them you indeed become a pushover.
If you want to live your life by (old) sayings, I'll give you a new one: Respect is earned, but can only be by showing it.

I know I am grossly stereotyping when I say this, but I am guessing that many of them would work in some form of IT or technical related field and earn a decent income from that.
I personally know that the IT team for the business I work for is full of socially awkward men who fit the stereotype pretty much to the tee. They are well paid and very good at what they do, but many lack the social skills beyond their clique to interact with women who look like Belle Delphine. They could talk your ear off about SQL and javascript or the latest trends in coding, but put them in a room with even a semi attractive woman and they'd be lost.
Case in point, at a recent company drinks night, a group of them brought their own board games to the restaurant / bar and proceeded to play those all night at a table rather than mingle and interact with other departments.
Nah I didn’t believe that shit either, then she pulls a wad of 100’s out of her purse and hanging out at her house, she showed other proof of income. I mean bro, it wasn’t 10k constant, but she could hit up multiple people for anywhere from 60-1000$ and they deliver same day if not next day. Like seeing her cash app and Apple Pay was crazy. I’m like me want, all I got is a full time job and gotta leave my house!

The last few years maybe not as much since they missed the World Cup, but generally yes they are profitable. They were just in the finals of the Gold Cup(regional tournament) a few weeks ago but lost to Mexico. They aren’t as bad as casual fans/non fans think. But yes, they haven’t had as much success as the women’s team obviously. The competition level is 10x higher though.
The men also don’t get paid a salary, just bonuses.

Yes, separate entities, but not separate costs IMO. USSF subsidizes NWSL by paying the USWNT players’ league salaries. They pay no such league salaries for men playing in MLS.
The Orlando Pride do not pay (any/all, cant remember breakdown) of Alex Morgan’s salary. Those players probably would not be in the NWSL without USSF paying them.
The reality that isn’t often reported is that it’s complicated because the men and women have very different contracts, with different perks. There are real disparities with things like food stipends and travel accommodations, but those things don’t make the news.

Their separate contracts mate, and separate filed entities. They are both paid for the by the USSF but so is, say, National Geographic and Fox News. If I worked for Fox News, but then did freelance work for NatGeo neither side can be say "Well Murdoch owns both, so we get to use the combined salary to determine what you get paid."

Their separate legal entities (filed separately) and separate contracted salaries. It violates US law - especially payroll law - to try and use salaries from various holdings coupled together when they're filed individually.
For example if you worked for Nat Geo and your worked for Fox News they don't get to say "Well its owned by Rupert Murdoch's holdings so we get to combined your salaries as consideration" EVEN IF Murdoch parent company transfers funds between them.
The USSF will probably lose the lawsuit if this is their argument, but it does come off as a great threat saying "Well we don't have to subsidize the NWSL anymore," which is perfectly legal assuming they didn't sign some long term contract.
Also, buddy, this is basic accounting stuff. Any business owner knows this. Its been law for decades.

The USSF pays for BOTH jobs though. They give money to the USWNT and to the USWL. Where are as for the men, the USSF only pays for the USMNT.
The lawsuit (which I'm going to assume you haven't read) is by the USWNT about the USWNT. Their contracts for the NWSL (not USWL) are separate and not part of the lawsuit.

It seems fair that both the men and women would get an equal percentage of revenue. However, if this is the case, I might anticipate the men making more money if the TV revenue is higher. I’m not sure about soccer, but generally speaking, men’s sports gets higher TV ratings and that is really where the money is.
Men’s soccer is the most popular sport in the world.
Women’s soccer, not so much.

This article shows that USSL is counting the salaries paid through NWSL contracts as USWNT salaries, when it doesn't for the men.
If the argument is made that USSL is paying into NWSL as a developmental league and they don't have to do that with men's leagues, that is a different argument, and should be made as such. But, they do an awful job of trying to monetize the NWSL. You have a pro-cornhole league on ESPN, but I have to find NWSL games on Yahoo sports.
Let's all be honest though:. This "fact sheet" is an attempt by USSL to fuel this debate, and somehow convince people that these women, these back to back world cup champions somehow deserve less compensation. Not even the USMNT is buying that nonsense.

I do and I am making the point based on stats. Just look at the competitive teams in women's worldcup as compare to men's. Only after 2015 women's world cup started having 24 teams. Before that they only had 16 and even 12. And the australian and us women's team lost to under 15 boys too. It's basic biology that men in general are more competitive than women in sports that require higher physical strength. Is US team best among women? Yes. Are they better than men's team? NO. And you can't compare two different tournaments having entirely different level of competitiveness.

Anyone who knows even a little bit about the sport knows what the situation is. Last world cup, the men failed to qualify but all matches were played on actual grass. The women's World Cup (hosted in North America) only had venues with astro-turf which is banned for any men's competitions for being awful and causing friction burns. Astro-turf also holds heat more and is confirmed to make the on-field experience hotter by a noticeable margin.

Sounds like a load of bullshit to me. I know your username is incelvester and what connotation that has, but they released the women's wages and conveniently left out what the men's team wages were.
The $100,000 figure is also the maximum salary. If you read the lawsuit, you'd find that female WNT players would earn a maximum of $99,000 or $4,950 per game, while similarly situated male MNT players would earn an average of $263,320 or $13,166 per game.
The payment structure is also fucked. Usually what happens is that a club pays a player a salary, and the national federation then compensates the player for appearances on the international level. For the USWNT, however, it's the federation (U.S. Soccer) that pays the club salary; the women then draw a second salary for their national play, which is a departure from the men's team.
What all of that means is that the US women's team has a way different pay structure than the men's team. It's also different from most developed countries that play the sport, even for the women's teams
