To make the analogy more accurate: The escalator should be for women only, and the stairs should be for men and women. At the top though, no one can tell which women took the stairs and which ones took the escalator, but everyone knows the men took the stairs.

It actually does portray it perfectly. That escalator is open for use by both men and women, but women complain because it isn't open to only them. They don't actually want to achieve, they want to be victims and complain that the stairs exist.
