From a marketing point of view an ad like this makes sense. The majority of match three and other mobile games of that nature are female, and often when you stroke a woman's ego (or anyone's ego) you can get em to do things for you, in this case, download my game.

IIRC the latest studies on "gaming" populations, about 50+% of "gamers" are women.

This is mostly due to the fact that a gigantic part of the videogame market is mobile phone games, which have a huge success with middle aged women (and also in their 30ies).

So this ad probably just follows the biggest market share for a mobile app based on making score and nothing else.

I've put "gamers" into brackets because although I dislike gatekeeping, mobile games, with very very few exceptions, are more of a disease than entertainment and are seriously a fucking disgrace to the industry. (skinner boxes desings in particular, but also the incredibly low standards). (with exceptions ofc, monument valley, plague inc....)

You know, i'm all about men's rights cause fuck third wave feminism, but I personally don't have a problem with this kind of ad. It's a little time killer app. Does it really matter who's better? If we start complaining about this, we might skip right to third wave men's rights xd

Like someone said, it makes sense from a business perspective to pander to womens sexism to sell them products. It's just jarringly out of place with the rest of modern society due to the fact that so many women are sufficiently behind the rest of the species in their ethical development that it's profitable to do this with them and not elsewhere, due to decades of gynocentric feminist propoganda keeping them sexist, and either oblivious to their own sexism or extremely hostile to it being pointed out.

I have seen the same posts with the dad doing better. I don't think this is intentionally sexist. I think that it is a very lazy advertising technique to appeal to the lower end of the IQ spectrum.

If this ad makes you emotional, you're so close. You're so close to understanding what actual oppression against an actual minority is. It's that feeling, but ascribe it to warrentless police killings, systematic marginalization, or rampent sexual harassment, not an ad for a video game.
