Thousands of dads are left in shock as DIY paternity tests soar. Up to 30,000 tests are being performed every year, says Alphabiolabs. In the UK about 750,000 babies are born every year. Feminists want the test to be illegal without the written consent of the mother.

Mother-of-two, 40, falsely branded a neighbour a sex offender because he 'made too much noise building a guinea pig hutch in his garden'. It seems for many women if they do not get their way they make a false sex allegation knowing a man is not protected by the law.

Miss Dick said officers must investigate rather than blindly believe an allegation, and should keep an open mind when a victim has come forward.

Very sensible from Miss Dick. The police should conduct and investigation and use evidence to come to their own conclusion. Rapists should be punished severely. So should false accusers because this is how lives are ruined.

Agreed. Miss Dick is turning out to be far from a feminist agent, like Saunders. She could bring about some real reforms in the UK capital's policing.

Miss Dick is turning out to be far from a feminist agent...

Well, she hasn't suffered the backlash yet...

[–]Rethgil 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Only because in the UK its a public holiday, and that's a time when most people don't read the headlines or check the news.

Also, journalists are on holiday too and most won't yet have published this.

So brace yourself for the inevitable HUGE outrage from feminists and pressure groups....

Hopefully I'm wrong, but...

Looks like she's a honest human being. Nice.

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why was this allowed to get to the place that it is now? It's fucking insane to think that they didn't use typical police measures in rape cases. WTF?

[–]Atheist101 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

OPEN MIND

Theres our sound bite right there, keep an open mind, not "listen and believe"

[–]tenchineuro 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Very sensible from Miss Dick.

Did you notice she still calls the accuser a victim?

-keep an open mind when a victim has come forward.

This still reeks of believe the woman.

[–]Choice77777 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She seems like a proper decent person.

[–]Tedesche 41 points42 points43 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Glad to see some rational behavior coming out of Scotland Yard. What's better (but fucked up) is that it's coming from a policewoman, meaning the feminists can't as easily scream misogyny about it. If it was a male cop, I guarantee you they'd do that and demand he resign (and he'd likely have to).

[–]Muesli_nom 24 points25 points26 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

the feminists can't as easily scream misogyny about it.

Well hello there; Let me introduce you to my good friend, Internalized Misogyny.

FTFY

[–]Tedesche 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, but it doesn’t fly as well, particularly not for a woman as high ranking as she is in a male-dominated profession.

[+]Dapperdan8141 points 8 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

The very cynical and fed up part of me (that's becoming most of me, these days) tells me the only reason they're doing this is because (and I'm really just assuming here) the majority of recent rape cases have involved migrant aggressors. So naturally we want to presume the innocence of these poor migrants. Maybe the women they rape shouldn't entice them with western hedonism so much.

[–]Tedesche 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Eh, I don’t know. I think that one false case with the guy who made the news was a big deal, and then it was followed by other similar cases, which proved it was a systemic problem. I sympathize with that cynical part of you, believe me, but I think this may legitimately be an instance of progress for us.

[–]TheAngryBird03 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I agree I think it’s more to do with the two recent big cases that hit the news and the fallout from the follow up investigations

[–]Rethgil 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's utterly wrong. How can you even assume there's such Left wingers at such positions in such am organization known for its Right wing history??!

Just be happy the announcement is what it is and don't let such speculation cloud the good news.

[–]Lethn 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Considering that a big problems has been removed. I wonder if this will affect other things like hate crime laws? Count Dankula for example might find he's able to do more without the police able to rely on people from above to support them in ridiculous court cases.

'And what might be a misunderstanding between two people, clumsy behaviour between somebody who fancies somebody else, is not a matter for the police.'

Holy shit, that's pretty big considering, very rarely do you have the police openly saying something like that.

[–]TheStumblingWolf 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So I guess you could say people should be considered innocent until it could be established they weren't? Who would've thunk?

[–]tenchineuro 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Scotland Yard abandons policy of automatically BELIEVING rape complainants as commissioner Cressida Dick says 'a clumsy misunderstanding is no police matter'

That's what she says, lets hope she makes it official as a policy change, in writing. If she does not the police will probably just keep doing what they've been told to for years and years.

[–]Rethgil 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This can't be true surely!? Please don't get my hopes up! Is it a late April fool, or is this the best news I've heard for years?

[–]RapidFireSlowMotion 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm thinking it looks a lot like an April fool's prank too, maybe for other reasons though, what with interviewing "Miss Dick" and some dude named 'Nick' being the apparent cause of their change of heart:

uncorroborated allegations of a Westminster sex abuse ring from a man known only as 'Nick' were 'credible and true.'

The Crown Prosecution Service is now considering whether to charge 'Nick' for perverting the course of justice after these claims were found to be false.

Sounds more like they could be giving themselves an excuse to treat male victims even worse

[–]drinksilpop 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Kind of common sense. If one of my kids cry wolf (lie to get another in trouble) they get the same length of punishment or longer than the other would have if they had done what they were accused of.... Clarification: grounding or loss of allowance.

[–]tekmonster99 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wonder how much of this is repositioning because immigrants might be raping the locals. It really strains political correctness. Believe the accuser and villainze the hapless immigrant who was merely having a sexual emergency?

[–]choobster 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

As good as this sounds. I wonder if it is so that they have reason to ignore the increasing rapes and rape gangs from the refugees they took in.

[–]Atheist101 -2 points-1 points0 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Get the fuck out of here with your /r/the_donald shit

[–]choobster 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol uh oh!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

this is so they dont have to pursue all the "fake and islamaphobic" rape allegations. not mens rights.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good news. However, i fear that tomorrow's headline will be, "Woman Talks Sense, Gets Fired."
