Does anyone even care about being called a racist now? It is so diluted and used as an argument for every illogical position the left has. Want voter ID like every other country in the world? RACIST. Want to reduce welfare because of harmful effects on society? RACIST.

Honestly, I don't even care about being called a racist. Who gives a shit. It is such an overused word it lost its power a long time ago.

Can cofirm: have tried to appeal to r/politics that the leftist extremists are just as violent and wrong as the right extremists. Was met with "you defend fucking Nazis who are responsible for genocide! You sick fuck!"

And of course "huh, you post in r/mensrights I won't listen to anything you say."

It's incredibly sad to see the blind hate some people on the left have for anyone that doesn't want to kill anyone who disagrees with them.

They don't even see the irony when they say "Nazis have become emboldened." (Leftist extremists have clearly also become emboldened.)

Seriously! I was just accused of being a sexist misogynist on Facebook by a personal friend of 9 years.

I had posted a psychological study showing that women who had put a photo with more revealing clothing on their resume got more interviews. I wasn't advocating for it - I'm against that sort of treatment, but I didn't also explicitly and in all caps say "I think this is horrible!" or something.

Bam, second comment is my friend who posted that I'm perpetuating sexism and that I should be dead. Couldn't believe it.

Tried telling him why that's simply not the case, and heard zero reply. Bad coincidence, my wedding is in 2 weeks and he won't reply whether he'll be there or not. Really hurts to have someone write you off over their SJW bullshit.

No kidding. I've seen feminists trying to brand Thunderf00t as a white supremacist. Nothing could be further from the truth. Dr. Phil Mason is a brilliant scientist who has nothing to do with the white supremacist bozos. What he has done is take some feminists to task for their incredibly foolish ideas.

This is something I see with all the white nationalist movements popping up lately. Most of those people aren't racists. They're just white people (mostly men) who have been treated like the devil just because they were born white.

Beyond that, they are labelled Nazis and fascists just because they are anti-immigration. Anti-immigrationists are not generally anti-immigration because of skin color. They are anti-immigration because there aren't enough jobs for working class Americans, and because their culture is starting to become a problem.

In concept, America was considered a cultural melting pot, where everyone mostly acclimated to Western culture. But these days, so many people are immigrating that they just don't acclimate, in a lot of cases.

Also, the most racist and misogynist treatment I've seen in recent times is committed by immigrants, because they don't share our values. They tend to give preferential treatment to people of their own skin color. I've seen many immigrants hired for jobs who didn't meet requirements, and couldn't even speak English. Jobs that require communication. I also see immigrant managers treating women like second class citizens, but those women usually have no where else to go, so they can't stick up for themselves or end up jobless.

A lot of these people are pro-white because the rest of the world feels anti-white these days. Not because they hate people who aren't white.

This whole racial crisis represents a failure to listen. The left has turned themselves into a living echo chamber, where finding common ground has been demonized. They no longer believe in compromise, or that they could be wrong. It's just us vs them.

I urge everyone here, the next time you find someone you think is the devil because of their beliefs, sit down with them and listen to their points. Come from a place of assuming that they are a rational person, just like you. Breaking bread with those we consider our enemies and caring about the issues of both sides is how we diffuse conflict, rather than create it.
