Structural Powerlessness Hypothesis:

Women seek mates who have good financial prospects because they are typically excluded from power and access to resources.

FALSE:

Women with lots of financial resources have a mate preference for even more resources. And men with fewer resources do not value resources in women more than men with more resources do.

CONCLUSION:

No evidence for structural powerlessness hypothesis. Strong support for evolved preference for resource acquisition (within cultures and across cultures).
