I could rehash it, but generally men get tattoos as a form of group bonding (military, law enforcement, etc). Women do it to beautify what they perceive as a personal ugliness that needs to be disguised.

Graffiti and Shrapnel (aka tattoos and piercings) are often (but not always) signs of emotionally damaged individuals. This is especially true of women and the greater the number and more garish they are, the more the correlation.

Put another way, there's a reason it's called a "tramp stamp", and not a "virginal good girl stamp".

There's a huge tattoo trend amongst female crossfitters, Olympic weight lifters, and powerlifters. After dating a couple of them I've noticed that fitness + tattoos = emotionally scarred or immature women. I don't mind a small tattoo here and there but when I see a female lifter with huge thigh and shoulder tattoos I automatically think of red flags.

More specific to women. 1 or 2 hidden tattoos are one thing. A bunch in obvious areas is usually correlated with a poor LTR choice. It's partly just an observational thing that rings true for me at least. It's also been studied somewhat. And it just makes logical sense. Getting tattoos is often impulsive, rebellious, and attention seeking. It makes sense that women with those traits are more likely to be tatted up and also be poor LTRs for most men.

Personally, the reason behind the tattoo is the important stuff. I had one chick that was tatted out tell me she got all of her tattos "just cuz" or "I was bored". Might have been a coincidence, but she had a pretty fucked up childhood. The tattoo's were the warning sign, and digging deeper into our conversation proved the old stereotype.

My current SO has a couple tattoos, they certainly are not a red flag in many cases. She's a world traveler and an artist although pretty shy and a bookworm.

I'd say look at who your social circle includes. Did you meet her at a bar or club? Yea probably red flag. But if you continuously meet interesting, intelligent people who have strong personalities, tattoos can be an expression of those personalities. It's body art for some people and those are the people I personally spend my time with.

If you only meet women for whom tattoos are just a way they advertise they are a damaged slut, i would seriously reconsider continuing to pick up women in those places.

Most parents understand the permanent factor of tattoos and for that reason explain to their children why it's potentially such a bad idea to get one . Being young and not being fully mature could easily leave you regretting anything you get . On top of not really being knowledgeable in getting tattoos finding someone you trust and has experience doing tattoos is something most people don't think about so they end up going to a classmates house or stoner friend who just so happens to do tattoos on the weekends for the low . All the shit that could just go wrong and for someone to come along and say fuck it I want some anyway shows just how irresponsible emotional and reckless most people who get tattoos can be.

Not everyone's like this but money is on she's broken somewhere deep down inside if she has tattoos

To me, tattoos in western culture signify rebellion. They're a masculine statement that you reject cultural norms and are a 'cool' kid. When women get them in excess it tells me that she is a party animal who likes to fuck gangsters/bikers.

Used to cover up self inflicted or cosmetic surgery scars (notice the sky-rocketing amount of lower stomach/pelvic region tattoos now that stomach liposuction is so affordable).

Anybody who gets a tattoo shows a compete lack of foresight or maturity. Every single person who has a tattoo regrets it 5-10 years down the line, but the vast majority will mever admit it. If you're permanently scarring your body to fish for compliments and cred, you're still a child.

I can give people a pass if they have a tattoo, we were all young and stupid once; but if I see someone go from tattoo-less to tatted up while I know them then I instantly think bad of them.

but if your in a bar you see a girl with snake eyes/monroes/bull ring and 2 very visible tats + cross necklace , industrial bar in the ear. That's a good lay but not something you could ever take seriously for your own sanity.

broken women are broken , plate em don't date em , it's not your job to fix which was broken far before you got there (also generally not fixable hence the loss of your sanity)

Tattoos are a pretty common part of human culture and have been for thousands of years. I don't know why TRP has all these little quirky things they think are red flags. My GF has a giant tattoo on her back. I'm into it. Ya'll guys can be some insecure judgmental dudes sometimes.

Tattoos aren't bad, if there's some real meaning and thought behind them.

I met a girl who had a rose tattoo and when I asked about it she said it was for her deceased mother. To me that says family oriented and one of the major things I look for in a serious relationship.

Another girl I met had a spider web tattoo. Why? Because she thought it looked pretty. That says insecure, while not a deal breaker by itself it was a red flag and due to other contributing factors I decided to move along.

Red flags don't mean don't get near this girl, they mean proceed with caution.

A few tattoos with meaning aren't bad. A girl covered in tattoos of random shit and a fuck ton of piercings are usually fucked up and have a shit ton of baggage. Just had to deal with this with a recent plate. Her dimple piercings felt great on my cock but it wasn't worth her craziness.

Depends on the tattoo and its placement, but definitely a red flag for sluttery. I'm okay with small, discrete tattoos that are concealed 90% of the time. Sleeves and tramp stamps are a no-go.
