My wife started to get to a point where she would become abusive during fights. I let it happen once only blocking her. The next day I made it clear to her that while I don't plan on ever initiating violence, however, I will defend myself if that ever happens again. A month later, she began to look like she was gonna be abusive, I put my hands up in a fighting position fully ready for a fight. She backed down and never did it again. Our fights only remain verbal now.

I used to work security at a bar. I broke up many fights and no one ever gave me a problem. Until a pregnant woman started a fight with another woman over a guy. I was pulling the other woman away to protect the pregnant lady who started it and the pregnant lady punched me in the face.

What would you do in this situation?

I gave her one of the most pissed off looks I think I ever made and her boyfriend/husband rushed over and I told him to get his fucking animal out of the bar.

If she wasn't pregnant, she would've gotten a healthy shove at least.

Why should I care if you're female? ... a woman tries to rob my bag or assault me like in these videos...why should I have to hold back and worry about HER safety?

You shouldn’t - I mean ideally, you won’t have to hit anyone at all. But if you’re in any one of the situations you describe, I think you are entirely right to defend yourself with as much force as you can muster.

Two important points:

1) The kind of skanky and/or psycho women that will actually hit you - see both stories you link to and your own experience - are very often the kind of skanky and/or psycho women that have brothers, uncles, gang members and assorted other idiots who are looking for a reason to pop a fella in the face to prove their manhood.

So often you are ~~not~~ avoiding hitting them for their sake but for yours - because without their men with them at the time you have no idea what kind of ‘artillery’ they can call on at a later date. That’s even more true in an area you hang around in regularly.

2) I said "you are entirely right to defend yourself with as much force as you can muster” and I mean it - but the law will see it differently so if you do end up having to belt someone back in your defence, you need to make sure you don’t get caught doing it because you are the one who will suffer more from it.

If you ever strike a woman, two things have to be true:

You have to be unquestionably legally justified. In effect, this means either she has to have a weapon or you have to be outnumbered. Otherwise, you you will be the one arrested and charged for lawfully defending yourself. Usually you will need witnesses which either means there is video involved or you are going to have to deal with #2 below.
If there are other men present, you have to drop her in a quick and brutal way that convince the men who will turn white-knight that they don't want to tangle with you. You are not just convincing her to stop aggressing but also convincing the surrounding me to not start aggressing. If you fail in this, you are going to get your ass kicked by numbers.

99% of the time, the best choice for the man is to just walk away. Men have to deal with the fact that they are legally and socially considered second-class citizens. It isn't what should be, but it is what is.

I don't blame a man for defending himself against a woman. But if he does, the law and public opinion will likely crash down upon him like an avalanche. Would going to jail be better than being put into a coma? That's up for each man to decide.

I'm a former police officer and I can say for a fact that if you're a cop and not willing to hit a woman, your going to get your clock cleaned pretty much daily.

The never hit a girl rule is sexist and used to empower abusive/coercive behaviour by females.

There is one case in which It's advisable to not hit, and that is when dealing with some of the more seriously deranged personality disordered types with Sociopathic Elements. In those cases, they will seamlessly switch from goading and creating violent scenarios to emotional blackmail once they have achieved control by having their target use any form of violence against them.

If you ever look at SRS threads on this topic, they pretty much sidestep the entire topic by saying "No one should ever hit anyone!" So, let's just ignore the fact that women do hit men, and ignore the fact that men need to be able to defend themselves, by saying that the woman shouldn't have attacked him in the first place. Okay.
