Janet Bloomfield has an interesting take on this. She welcomes combat units for women but only if the men and women are segregated. If they are eg 50-50 the men will have to pick up all the slack, increasing risk; additionally, the male protective instinct will cause the men to protect the women, thereby putting their own lives in danger at the expense of group cohesion. Sexual dynamics will also diminish the "brotherhood" and cause conflict. However, if there are women-only teams the females will have to step up of their own accord, and not depend upon the men. The female units will have higher casualty rates, but that will cause the government to be less flippant about engaging in unnecessary military conflict.

Standards won't remain the same. Any day now we'll here the usual bitching and complaining from a shrill feminist that half the army isn't women and how this demonstrates sexism, and their absurd grievance industrial complex will start it's gears turning.

It isn't a matter of "But that's dangerous" or "But women know better" or even "Not even feminists are that retarded", there's the fact that little miss fuckwit has to find a way to earn a living with her play-doh and legos degree in gender studies, and is incentivized to kick up a shitstorm wherever she can. Ofcourse, the feminist institutions and media desperate for relevance, more government funding, and something else to bitch and complain about to fuel the narrative etc will be all to happy to provide a megaphone to her. Our system is structured in such a way that this is inevitable.

Maybe this one will have a buzzcut and they'll finally get some variety into their fashion, the whole hipster glasses neon color hair thing is getting so boring.

Hm I'm interested to see what the reaction will be when the number of women in combat roles doesn't immediately reach parity with men. My guess is either blaming the fitness standards or sexism claims in general rather than allowing that many women aren't interested in combat roles. That being said, it would be a pleasant surprise if that happened.

The comments are just full of a lot of anecdotal reasoning, and most of it to do with competency, which isn't even anyone concern. But very few of them seem to want to address the issue of physical prowess.

You have it all wrong, the jobs are open to women, but only if they so choose. A woman can opt in or opt out at any time, the noise from the first shot fired will send every woman opting for commanding men to die from a safe distance while claiming combat duty.

What exactly does this have to do with Men's Rights? No man is losing a job in this case, competition is still to a standard for the jobs, and the opportunity for equality is actually there.

Wait, it's not just required draft registration.

Per my understanding, when a man volunteers for the military, he can't unilaterally choose not to serve in combat.

Per my understanding, if he joins and then the military decides he's going to serve in combat, he doesn't get to say, "no." Am I correct?

Am I correct in saying that among females in the military, the only ones who will be in combat are the ones who volunteer for it? As in, if a woman has joined the military, she my refuse to serve in combat by simply never saying that's what she wants to do?

I think I'm correct here, and that's total bullshit.
