First and foremost, don't argue, debate. Amanda Marcott is a hateful sexist bigot. Just like the GrandDragon of the KKK, you will never convince her that she's wrong. What you can do it convince the audience that she is wrong.

If you note, she doesn't actually talk about any issues. It's ad-homin hit piece attacking the people involved. If you want to dispute the piece, don't dispute the piece, but bring up all of the men's rights issues.

Ask your feminist friend about mutilating infants genitalia, why is it ok to mutilate an infants genitalia so long as they have the "wrong" genitalia?

Ask your feminist friend about University enrollment rates. Where is equality? We are at women outnumbering men 2:1 and the solution is more women. So what would "equality" according to feminism 5:1 20:1, the exclusion of men?

Ask your feminist friend about child custody and fathers rights.

Don't directly defend the victims of the hit piece because that is to far spun to make your point. Defend them by making the points that Marcotte refuses to acknowledge.

The article isn't too much of an impediment. Marcotte gives a very snarky description of MRAs, but then has to admit:

And their efforts have been effective.

So we just keep on doing what we've been doing. Marcotte, of course, will keep doing more snark, with, hopefully, much the same losses as up to now.

You can also publicly welcome articles that lie about mens rights, because the more there are the more people will check for themselves and realize they are being lied to and support mens issues.

While the organized MRA is still seen as "notorious" due to propaganda painting us as violent extremists, male issues are slowly starting to become more prevalent in the collective consciousness. I actually have quite a few friends, who never heard of the MRA, but are fed up with things like still being expected to pay for women, watching girls/women get all the educational funding and media constantly guilt-tripping men as a whole.

The only movement that is self-defeating is feminism with its focus on microscopic (non) issues, hysteria and obvious lies.

They never would have written an article like that 10 years ago. The mere fact that they felt the need to publish that and so many other articles full of hollow criticisms of MRAs is evidence of our recent success and growth, and the fact that feminism is on its last breath.

I often notice that people conflate the Men's Rights Movement with places like /r/theredpill (which is no different than some feminist sites), and MRA's with "pick-up artists."

I have no doubt that there are MRA's that genuinely believe and espouse /r/theredpill BS and/or would describe themselves as "pick-up artists," but it is wrong and unfair to assume that we are all the same.

Some of us will disagree with others in the movement, and that's OK. We are not trying to be a totalitarian movement with a strictly controlled message. Discussion and debate is OK, even within the our movement.

Kind of a short article for the "wall of bullshit" tactic isn't it? If someone links to an article like this they probably didn't bother to read it. Hell, I didn't bother to read it and I'm into all this gender politics crap, what normal person would? Did you?

So don't even bother with the content of the article. If someone cares about a particular issue it raised they can always ask about it. I'd go more to the attitude of the article which is clearly a really nasty petty minded attack on men's rights. People already think of feminism as being nasty and petty and anti-male so they'd probably get that impression even if you say nothing. Just don't get in the way of feminists shooting themselves in the foot, and talk about some real issues.

Probably in this case if you say something about how nasty the piece is some feminist will try to defend it. Not by citing any issue from the piece ('cos they can't be bothered to read it either), but more likely by posting some feminist slogan like "Oh well men are paid more blah blah blah"

Do more than just argue. Vote at elections for MRA friendly candidates; vote with your wallet and boycott any feminist sponsored merchandise, companies and charities; vote with your 'feet' and ignore / boycott / walk away from feminist sponsored events, articles and 'protests'.

I wrote this article as a straight forward introduction to the MRM. I hope it is useful.

The key here is not that they will believe what the article says, it's that they can't claim we didn't try to present our arguments in a straight forward manner.
